Yes, there is. You can place it in a room, that is not visible for the camera. If you do not use the advanced culling functions for anything else the code is like this:

SetObjectRoom(<insert room index>); It sets an object into the designated room. I think the indexes you can use are 0 (the room that is always rendered) through 9999. I could be wrong, though, and it's just 999. Unless the camera has SetRoomVisibility(RoomIndex,NewVisibilityState) set to true on NewVisibilityState, you won't be able to see it, and it won't conflict with anything in the other rooms unless specifically said to, because it is not being rendered.
