First i tryed fog. But even with it turned all the way up so that I could not see any thing, there was no effect on FPS. Is there any code/script that keeps U3D from drawing any thing past a certain point? I will use fog to cover the effect so people cant tell. It should make the FPS go WAY up. |

Correct. Fog won't help you much, it's just a way to cover up the ugliness of what the camera renders at the horizon at the max_range distance. Edited by Despellanion, Mar 30 2009, 09:43 PM.

and also cut the amount of meshes up. u3d's culling engine doesn't draw a mesh if it is not in view, model = one big ass mesh = have to draw whole thing model = heaps of smaller meshes = has the ability to draw smaller parts of the model |

Also dont use too much textures, One big file is better with textures as a whole lot of small ones. |

agreed because it only has to access that one texture instead of heaps of others, but it does strain a few types of cards, due to their limits on texture sizes. |
