call me stupid, but i can't get fog to cover up the ugly draw distance cut off when its set to something like 500. all it does is make fog visible on the models but the cut off is still there, is the only way to avoid this to use a sky where at ground level(where things are cut off) have the sky the same color as the fog?

I have been having the same problem, I was getting ready to post this. See the thing is, fog realy isnt fog. In u3d fog just makes the texture on models and stuff fade off the what ever color you want.

Make the fog darker than the sky.

I can always make a shader that fades it out to the background, but that requires a whole overhaul of your PSS and rendering system. It's not something I want to do.
