I've been searching for this for a long time now, and I just can't find anything that helps me... I'm trying to create a nice-looking shadow like the Nintendo 64 shadows, a transparent circle. I want something like the image to the left, but end up with the one to the right. I tried to add an alpha map to the shadow model, but U3D doesn't load it, and I can't figure out how to load it. ![]() I really don't know how to achieve that effect. I used Anim8or to create the left image, if that's any help. |

Use a primitive. Stencil shadows render geometry exclusively, I believe, not textures. Yeah, get a primitive with an alpha'd texture. All black, and make it fade out to zero alpha. |

Make that faded black circle with transparency and save it as a png. Then just load that png as the texture for the shadow model. |

That solved the problem, now the shadow looks good. Thanks for your help ![]() New problem: I've had some earlier issues with my collisions (Mainly the character stops height (51) above the ground). I think I solved that, but the problem is that the character moves so slowly up slopes and speeds really fast down the same slopes. Is there a way to prevent that from happening? My collision code is the normal AttempMoveToPosition code. EDIT: I managed to figure this out by my self. *Solved* Edited by hepolite, Apr 10 2009, 01:15 PM.
