best way to go about this?

id like to discuss ways of video playback in 3d

Why not do like the techdemo does with its surveillance camera?, or the good old
Code:
 
texture+=1;
but that would require thousands of texture frames to make a video. If it's a video splash you want then you can simply use GMs functions for that in another view.

there was a topic like this on the gm forums, i think that they came up with the idea of writing no randoms into code and recording keypresses then playing the effect of the keyypresses back, you could do this with U3d just as easily i'd imagine. if you need it while the player is doing something else, then put it into an area of the map the player can't see and do the surveilance camera idea.

Just my thoughts , hope it helps

For the randoms just make a (few) list(s) and start at position x on the list, Position x is a random number given to the savefile
