Hello, I am an avid Game Maker user and I have turned to U3D because of a problem I have with Game Makers 3D animation. I hope you will be able to answer a few of my questions: 1. I've read U3D has it's own 3D and 2D rendering engines, is it possible to use Game Maker's rendering engine on menus? (Probably enable and disable the DLL on room switch?) 2. How are meshes/object/etc placed in the editor? Does each mesh use it's own object, or is it best all done through one object? 3. How are collisions handled using U3D? 4. Making games with online play, I assume there would be problems with this, I would like to include multiplayer in my games and I usually use 39DLL, will there be very bad framerate issues with Game Maker having to Access two DLL's? I know most of these are probably already discussed on these boards and I would have done more searching if I had had the time. It is late here and I have school in the morning. Please answer and thankyou for your assistance. |

Yes. One way is to first call SwitchView and then stop executing U3D's rendering code.
What ever way you want. If you can figure out how to put multiple U3D objects in one GM object, good for.
There are multiple ways, and there's an example on the main website.
No. Now get the hell out of here and read the manual. Oh, and enjoy the animation. P.S. Welcome to the forums. Edited by skarik, Apr 21 2009, 12:43 AM.

Sorry to have to say this, but most people here are too tired of answering these same questions over and over again so I'm just going to advice you to read the manual, as everything you have asked is explained in there. New people always tend to post questions before they have looked in the manual, and it's very annoying as the same questions gets repeated over and over again each week when the answer is right under their nose. Thank you and welcome to the community.
