I think it's 8 lights per model!
So yes you can put 99 lights but only 8 will show on a model.
and if you use pab it's only 3 per model.

in any case using so many lights hurts your speed.. i'm only using 2 and i'm making a FPS.

Well you can do one of two things.. learn to uv map your lighting or split your model

I just use the directional light and paint shadows on the textures. In a corridor I suppose I would make two small lights jumping ahead so it seems like lights are going on automaticly. But as of this moment I didn't encounter such problems.

I would just use lightmaps (if you dont know what that is, just think of it as adding a texture over the model, to fake the lighting). And for guns and moving objects all you need is 8 lights anyway, just disable lights which are too far away from the moving objects to be seen (most lights wont have a range big enough to cause problems.)

Thanks for the help peeps. Ive sort of come to that conclusion anyway. Is there a way i can disable the lights (without having to destroy & recreate them)

r = 0
g = 0
b = 0
range = 0

In recall i just set these parameters
and move the light
i only use 2 lights with pab mapping "since my GFX driver buggs out with 3" & i use a ambient light trick or two.. ;)

Just too easy
