Here is a topic where you post artwork that you drew! Meager, good, or great. Don't let limitations stop you from showing off your skill! I'll post some of mine later. |

I'm at my 3-day college orientation right now, but I'm learning Flash and I'm working on a whopper of an animation. Of course, I realistically only got a years experience in drawing - so any points would be great. What I find sad is that I find animating a martial arts scene easier than walking. |

that looks like an autogun turret that is also a stove pot/microwave although i don't use microwaves (lingering radiation...) |

Lingering radiation? Ok, I'm sorry, but if you've been exposed to enough microwave radiation to cause problems, I think the first you would notice is all the water in your body starting to boil away, along with serious burns all over your body. Microwave radiation is non-ionizing, so you're not going to wake up and suddenly find tumors growing all over your mouth. Since I'm sure you want evidence, here you go: Scientific study I'm sure a few residual waves bouncing around isn't going to hurt you. I'd show a drawing to get back on topic, but most of my drawings stink. EDIT: By the way, Eansis, are you going to start living in the dark, then? I mean, after all, isn't light radiation? there are a lot of scientific studies on the web that say the opposite...some say microwaves are safe, some say they cause cancer...there is no such thing as "One True Study" because science is open to everyone, and different scientists can perform different experiments and arrive at different conclusions...If I only based my life style from just one organization (like the FDA) that would be a bit like a one world government, wouldn't you say? I'm no expert in radiation and I probably couldn't say whether or not ionizing or non-ionizing radiation is carcinogenic, but I like to play it safe if you know what I mean. |

The speed of the cellular transmition wavelengths are too wide to knock electrons off of atoms. So the chances are extremly low.. Even a 40W light bulb emits about 4 to 12 guaze of magnetic fiels strength.. Old crt montors emmited allot more rads than that.. a damaged crt power cuircit could emit x-rays from the tube if all the failsafe systems malfunctioned.. And tube televisions use the same lopt transformer design that boosts 220V/110V to 25000Volts for the anode and cathode potential. And i have spent about most of my life under a CRT or TV and i personaly find my fourth arm that grew out of my butt is quite usefull. But seriously.. nothing can go wrong unless.. it's a complete safety and system malfunction.. and that hardly ever happens.. So your risk is very low. I got my cancer from those nuclear fuel experients my dad at home did when i was young.

Okay so I just remembered that non-ionizing radiation does not alter an atom's electrons, or something like that. anyway i will have to research this more, before I decide to put something in it. What is the point anyway, when you have toaster ovens? Tastes much better anyway.

Sometimes speed is more convenient then taste. That's why people eat at McDonald's instead of making burgers at home. Also, there are a few things (in my case) that are easier to cook the way I like in microwaves. Those little packages of Ramen noodle soup are one example. I could cook it on the stove. But the way I cook them in the microwave, the noodles are less mushy and more to my tastes. Also, I only have to use a microwaveable pot (which I then eat out of) instead of a metal pot and a bowl. Also, if you just need to heat up water for something, it's much quicker to stick it in the microwave then in a pot on the stove. Thing is, it takes a lot longer for things to heat up in an oven then in a microwave. Heating up a leftover steak in the oven can take twenty minutes plus however long it takes to preheat the oven. Heating up a leftover steak in the microwave can take maybe two to three minutes, tops. But you are right, things don't normally taste as good as the do if you cook/heat them up in the microwave. They tend to come out either too soggy or too dry (which isn't surprising because of how they work), depending on how long you cook them. |

lol don't even get me started on ramen noodles so much msg in there...even the organic ramen noodles are bad cuz there is so much sodium...also i avoid those plastic/cardboard bowls that come with microwavable food...im just imagining the radiation leeching all of that coating into the food, lol maybe i just like the good ol days with a stove and a kettle lol (oh and ps, toaster oven's are like 2x faster than a regular oven cuz there heat gets trapped more quickly

For most of us, a toaster oven is a little box with slots on top that we stick bread in. Don't think there's room to reheat last night's dinner in there.
