I agree with Best and Ponies, ID really needs to make some more interesting games... they need to reclaim their former glory as a major player in FPSs (heck, Infinity Ward certainly don't deserve the fame that they have, with the copied and pasted rubbish they push in peoples faces every year). RAGE was nice but in my option it was ahed of its time.
Look on the bright side, at least when you are old and gray you will get to sit back and laugh at Infinity Ward for releasing COD number 86
Although I cant deny, I had some great times with my friends on CoD MW2 :) For a year it was really popular at my school and although I didn't really fulfil me as a gamer, it acted a great medium to bring us all together :) Oh the shenanigans we'd have...

In America were looking for ways to stop "robo-calling".
Surprisingly noone has came up with good technology to stop automated dialing.
So the FTC is looking for ideas to stop it from happening. Don't even think you have to write a program, just come up with the best idea and you'll get 50,000 dollars.
Thinking cap on. :dunce:

EDIT: New axe :D Yea you might have to turn sideways. I rotated it in paint so it would look normal. Didn't work. Rotated it in photobucket, still didn't work. <_<

English and American, Two different languages with minimal differences..
<explicit> that.
There are only a few minor spelling differences (color vs colour) and pronunciation differences (jaguar is pronounced as "jag-wire" or "jag-were" in American English, but "jag-you-are" or "jag-you-er" in British English), and everything else is the same. Unless you've got a redneck from the South speaking in a Southern drawl (or someone from the ghetto speaking in heavy Ebonics) trying to speak to a British guy speaking in Cockney, there usually aren't too many communication issues.

There is also donut and doughnut. As well as all their 'americanisms' like sidewalk, gas, diaper etc.

Captcha would be pretty easy to implement for the phone companies.
- Person dials number
- Person receives captcha request in phone from phone company
- Person enters the correct captcha
- Persons is granted the phone call and the number is finally dialed.

Yeah, but it should be optional. For example an emergency number. I can see the following scenario:

Oh my god, the house is on fire! quick dial the firemen.
*dials fireman*
To dial this number, you need to repeat the next few numbers:
848795461526871516318415616518651568448984654635637 6854616516894658 15
*types:
848795461526871516318415616518651568448984654635637 685461651689465 15

You have inserted the wrong number sequence, please try again.

And then when that person finally gets what he was calling for. The house will have already stopped burning since its all gone.

In my country we usually dont have robo calls. I only had one and it was perfectly legal. Turned out my cell number was re used and I was being called by a debt agency stating I had 1200 euro debt. I eventually just trew the fucking sim card away.

Obviously it would be pretty dumb to have capatcha for an emergency number :P Besides, most cell phones can dial emergency numbers without any SIM and network carrier.

They could captcha every five phone calls or something, and if you fail or don't complete the captcha then you cant make another phone call until you do. So the robo-callers would call five numbers then get stuck, but everybody else would only be bothered by a captcha every now and again.

That's a good idea, robo calling and bots online are very similar.

Like everyone has mentioned requiring captcha on all calls would be frusterating.

Not sure if the contest is just for US citizens or not.

Did you have a line upgrade? I found that to get download speeds higher than 50mbps you need to use a download accelerator or get very lucky with torrents (offcourse your connection must be higher than 70mbps too).

This is a regular phone line, PPPoE ethernet(not fiber optic is what I'm getting at) 40mbps connection. This test was done while connected to the modem/router(both are the same thing with this company) wirelessly(802.11n) I'm sure it would be faster with a hard line.
