So, I am thinking about starting a new project. Been a long, long time since I have done anything in game design. Got a few ideas floating around. Here is what I have so far:

Name: (WIP) LuCID

Genre: Indie/Sandbox/Adventure

Story: You wake up in a lucid dream, confused at first. As you come to your senses, you realize that its all a dream. Its pleasant at first, but gradually turns darker and darker, until you realize you are trapped. Your main objective is then to escape the dream. But will your own mind let you leave, or is it trying to show you something?

Gameplay: At the start you're phase in and out of lucidity, meaning you don't always have full control of what's going on. And you play, events and places you find in the dream effect the dream itself. For example, finding something that scares you instantly makes the entire dream world darker, and more frightening. This stacks with other things, so the game is constantly evolving. No two play throughs will ever be the same because of this. The content includes elements from all genres, and is not coherent at all. Though there an underlying pattern that features the story, and maybe hints at why you can't leave.

Think Inception times 1000.

Engine: Unity 3d, at the moment. Will be my first major project using the engine.

If anyone wants to join my team, hit me up.

Have fun with those context-free grammars ;) .

I could recommend a boost library for that, but you are not doing this in C++, are you?

Good god no.

I have been thinking about this for a while. I've got a good design in mind that can cover most programming paradigms by being a sort of 'programmable programming language'. In alot of ways its quite similar to a Lisp language, but its also very very different. Perhaps if I can be bothered to peruse this I will publish the language standard on this forum for you all to see.

I had an idea of making my own programming language, but it would probably be godawful, or not work.

To celebrate Halo 4...
I don't find Halo the least appealing, running around with those toy-looking weapons and armors. I played the first one and since I haven't touched it.

If the graphics were believable then I maybe would've liked it, but all the characters look like colorful plastic toy soliders with toy guns.
