The rumors I've heard say that the price of the PS4 is supposed to be around $400. It might actually be lower since the hardware being used is so similar to PC hardware. People have also speculated that the cost will be subsidized if you pay for an online service, kind of like a phone contract. Plus, if the software sells the console, Sony already has a leg up on Nintendo. I know I was depressed after E3 when I saw that very few worthwhile games would launch with the Wii U. I'm sorry, I don't care what anyone says, but ZombiU looks too much like a bad L4D clone to me. I already have Arkham City on my PC, and I'm not going to buy a Wii U for a special edition. Nintendo Land was just sad. Super Mario Bros. Wii U looks like it could be fun... but I don't think it's worth buying a new console over. Pikmin 3 isn't slated to come out until at least April, I think. In short, the Wii U isn't going to sell until Nintendo has a new 3D Mario adventure (like Super Mario Galaxy), a new Metroid, or a new Zelda lined up. Those are games worth buying consoles over. Rehashes of old games? Not so much. The PS4 already has a few good launch titles mentioned, and I'm sure more will pop up before the launch. I really feel that Nintendo tried to play the same game with the Wii U that they played with the Wii. But it's backfiring this time around. There is no compelling software to back the "innovation" of the Wii U, which is what helped the Wii succeed. There was a new Zelda title at launch, a new Metroid within a year, and a few other compelling titles. Additionally, the games were only $50 (compared to the $60 for new Xbox, PS3, and some PC games), and the US economy and many currently failing European economies were still doing well. Consumers are still sketchy about spending another $300 to $350 on a console after the last one sat around and collected dust after the initial novelty wore off. I think the ability to integrate the PS4 with your smartphone, tablet, or the PSVita (if you happen to be one of the two people that actually own one) will be very appealing to some people, and it help push sales a little bit. I think Sony is trying to take advantage of the mobile gaming boom without having to actually build a mobile device (since the PSVita clearly hasn't done well). To be fair, the 3DS did have an advantage of a year over the PSVita, but that isn't the only reason it has sold miserably. I haven't really seen anything that makes me want to really pick up either a Vita or a 3DS (although I am slightly tempted by the Ocarina of Time 3D remake), and I think both devices have been severely hurt by the smartphone and tablet gaming market. Me and my friends for one are seriously considering buying one, though I don't know if I still will when you have to pay for online services.. |

Doesn't matter as long as it's profit. Nintendo are smart that way, because they are able to do big price drops due to low-cost production. |

Whoa, the US has seriously fallen down the fiscal cliff? This always seemed to me like the absolute worst-case scenario, but now it just happened, nobody seems surprised and it's not even such a big topic in todays news. This seems like something, that could impact the position of the US in the world permanently and seriously. |

This is what happens when you elect idiots. The US government had a year and a half to come up with a possible solution, and the sequester was put in place as an incentive for compromise. You can see how well that worked. I don't know that it will affect the US's relative standing in the world because all the major countries in the world are so economically dependent on each other. Europe and Asia will feel the effects of Washington's putzing and bickering almost as much as the United States will, just as much of Europe suffered after Greece's economy collapsed. I hate to sound like a self-centered jingoist, but the US is so interlinked with most of the rest of the world that I can't help but think an economic collapse here would result in a giant domino effect. However, the sequestration is not going to be the end of the world US politicians predicted. It results in only a little more than a 2% spending cut, which barely scratches the surface on the rampant spending problem in the United States. The welfare system needs to be overhauled. Social Security needs to be fixed before it implodes under the weight of the baby boomer generation. Bureacracy has upset the checks and balances set in place in the US government, and unfortunately we are now paying the consequences. I still think France will be interesting to watch. With so many of the wealthy French packing up and leaving to avoid 75% taxes, I wouldn't be surprised if France becomes the new Greece. |

Did you quote that from a republican flyer or is it your opinion ?Though you are right, that a dent in the US economy will likely have negative effects on the entire world ecconomy. Comparing the US with Greece is a little problematic though. Afterall the US population is thirty times larger. |

I was just saying that Greece's collapse had a measurable effect on parts of Europe (didn't Spain actually suffer similar problems not too long after?), so imagine how much bigger the effect would be if it came from a country like the US. And yes, that is my opinion. I just happen to be a conservative Republican myself. But the blame lies on both sides. Both sides agree that spending cuts need to take place, but Democrats want the cuts to come out of things like military spending while Republicans want the cuts to come out of public programs. And that alone doesn't even cover the issue with each individual party not being able to agree on anything. More traditional Democrats are upset with how far to the left the mainstream Democratic party has moved, and moderate Republicans are upset with conservative Republicans, who are upset with just about everyone. And that still oversimplifies the situation. I did just read that some nimrod claimed the sequester would cost 170 million US jobs. There are currently 140 million jobs in the US. |

The crisis in Spain has its own causes. Essentially it was yet another real estate bubble bursting. The banks had their fun with it while it lasted. The problems in Greece certainly have helped it burst, but it would have happened either way. Nonetheless Greece has quite a notable effect on parts of the EU. The overall fear of a national bankruptcy causes interest rates on government loans to rise, which forces nations to cut costs heavily. This in turn leads to a stagnating economy and decreasing investments. A vicious circle. It has barely effected the economy in the northern parts of the EU including Germany, but Greece, Cyprus, Portugal, Spain and Italy have serious problems. In Spain every second adolescent is without job. The weird thing about the negotiations in the US is how political interests have drifted away from public interests. In the end it seemed, that both parties actually wanted this arbitrary mechanism to take effect, either because it damages the political opponent or because it leads to cuts, which could never be achieved with common politics. So if you lose 170 million jobs does that mean you need to recruit 30 million foreigners to become unemployed US citizens? |

Things are going downhill here too, (Netherlands (positioned left to germany)) The government motto is, "Save money on investments. We need money now, not in the future." So they decide to cut on education and investments, and to rise tax and do other silly stuff which will only cost them more money on the long run. |

Yes. Yes it does. We'll slack off on our border security and let in 30 million more illegal immigrants. I can't speak for the rest of the world, but US politics have more or less become what you suggested: it's all about winning and name-calling, and the few politicians who actually care for the common good get blasted into oblivion by ad campaigns and negative press. Independent fact-checkers have a party after any political press conference, debate, meeting, Congressional hearing, or public speech. For example, Obama mentioned in his State of the Union address that 500,000 manufacturing jobs had been created in the past three years. It, of course, ignored the 600,000 net loss since he took office in January, 2009. On the other side of the political spectrum, a Republican senator claimed the US government helped arm and fund Osama bin Laden in the 1980s. Nevermind the fact that the CIA denies this, as well Osama bin Laden, who always made the destruction of the United States and western civilization one of his top priorities. EDIT: I just did the math. Proportionately, the "grave impact" of the US government's sequester costs the US government as much as it cost Americans after the tax hike in January. It would basically be the same as taking enough money from a $48000 income to buy a nice washing machine. In other words, it'll make a few people grouchy, but it really has very little effect. I feel spiffy. When my brother built his new computer, he bought an armchair and switched to using his TV as his main monitor again, which meant there was a spare monitor lying around... Dual monitor setups are fun.
