Why all the Nintendo hate? They're the only ones who's been doing it right the past 7 years.

I personally would enjoy owning the new wii. The only reason I would get a ps4 would be for Battle Field 4. But I might as well build a pc instead and play online for free. IMO wii-u controller makes playing better than any other console, and when you just gotta play bf4 or something just hit the pc no point in even owning the other consoles.
edit:
wii-u ~ Tri Core, 3 GHz PowerPC-based 45nm CPU, very similar to the Xbox 360 chip. The CPU features 2 MB cache, 1 MB for Core 0, and 512 KB for cores 1 and 2
2 GB RAM: 1 GB is allocated for games and is shared between the CPU and the GPU, while 1 GB is allocated to the operating system. Custom 40nm AMD GPU with 32 MB embedded eDRAM and unified shader architecture. Wii U graphics are powered by a newer generation of AMD’s ATI graphics processor (GPU). Little is known about the Wii U graphics chip The graphics and CPU are expected to share the same memory (RAM), but will also include its own frame buffer of 32 MB.

PS4 ~ Inside the PS4 is, essentially, a specialized mid-range gaming PC. There’s an 8-core AMD Jaguar/Kabini x86-64 CPU, a Radeon 7870-derived GPU with 18 compute units (vs. Xbox One’s 12 CUs), and 8GB of unified GDDR5 RAM.

Why all the Nintendo hate? They're the only ones who's been doing it right the past 7 years.
Things Nintendo did right with the Wii:

  • Attracted a large install base very quickly.
  • Tried to bring something for everyone.
  • Made a profit on every console from the beginning.

Things Nintendo did wrong with the Wii:

  • Destroyed faith with third party developers. The only games worth playing on the Wii are first party.
  • Alienated the hardcore audience in favor of the WiiFit audience.
  • Used a cheap novelty to sell consoles. Once the novelty wore off, software and hardware sales plummeted.
  • The hardware is barely more powerful than the most powerful console from the previous generation: the Xbox.
  • Online gaming through the Wii is a joke.

That first reason alone on Nintendo's Wii failures is really the only thing on this list that matters. Honestly, the only games I really play on the Wii are Metroid, Mario, and Zelda. I actually can't remember the last time I turned on my Wii.

Nintendo tried the same thing with the Wii U. Unfortunately for them, consumers are smarter this time around, and the console has been a phenomonal failure. At the end of March, the Wii U had sold less then 3.5 million consoles. In the same time span, the Wii had sold almost 6 million. Most of those Wii U sales were made in the first month on the market.

There is nothing compelling gamers to buy a Wii U. There are almost no good titles to play, there are almost no third party developers left, and the gimmick used to sell the console isn't compelling to anyone. Microsoft took a massive steaming dump all over the Xbox One by putting strange restrictions and limitations on the console that no one is excited about and pricing it $100 more than the more powerful PS4. In my eyes, Sony has already won. Not because they released a real home run of a console, but because the competition released duds.

Have you even played a Wii? There are a ton of high quality 3rd party games that are exclusive for the Wii. To name a few:

  • Last Story
  • Pandora's Tower
  • Disaster: day of crisis
  • The Conduit (series)
  • No More Heroes (series)
  • Muramasa: The demon blade
  • Xenoblade Chronicles
  • Ferrari Challenge
  • Monster Hunter Tri
  • Sin & Punishment: Star Successor
  • MadWorld
  • Tales Of Symphonia: Dawn of the new world

The Conduit does not belong on a list of great third-party exclusives. The Conduit was created to fill a void on the Wii, and it is the pinnacle of mediocrity as far as first person shooters are concerned. If you want a great first person shooter on the Wii, just about the only title worth playing is Metroid Prime 3. I rented the game, and I have never been sad about not buying it. I can only take so much of Kevin Sorbo. If you want to play first person shooters, you should stick to the PC. I would like to play Last Story and Xenoblade Chronicles at some point, but I don't have money to blow on games right now. However, for every good third party title, there are at least five (probably closer to ten) shovelware titles.

Most of my gaming is restricted to the PC nowadays. I can't remember the last time I turned on a physical game console to play a game. It helps when I can just use an emulator to play all of my games, though. The last time I played Tales of Symphonia, it was through Dolphin, not my Gamecube.

The Conduit is an awesome game and I didn't find it any more mediocre than the abundance of first person shooters you find on PS3/360 which the majority of their libraries consists of.
I think this comes to opinion and what you personally think is good games. Wii got a lot of crap games and a lot of high quality gems, and so does the rest of the platforms (some more than other). But now with the Wii U you only got solid titles (granted, most of them are a few months away from release at this point).

I just don't think the Wii U is going to sell well. Even if the games themselves are decent, there just aren't enough console-sellers at this point. It actually had a relatively strong launch, but it dropped in sales almost immediately afterward. It just doesn't look good for the console. Only a few of the games worth playing are expected to hit by the end of this year, and most won't hit until next year. The problem with the Wii U isn't that it lacks good titles and has bad titles, it just doesn't have any titles, period.

I think it's too early to say that the Wii U will sell poorly, seeing that the other next-gen consoles have yet to be released and we only have last-gen consoles to compare. personally, it seems advantageous to nintendo to have released the Wii U early so people could afford the cheap price as well as gain the multi-platform titles coming out with the more expensive consoles.

It actually does look pretty cool... But it's not due until 2014. I think The Order: 1886 looks pretty good, too. I might like Final Fantasy XV more if Square's recent track record was better and if the game seemed more Final Fantasy and less Kingdom Hearts.

The last Final Fantasy was a joke. You were running on a straight tunnel-like path throughout the entire game.

That's why I'm concerned about this one. Square's recent games, quite frankly, have been crap. And I loved pretty much all of the Final Fantasies prior to the Playstation 2. I didn't ever play FFX or FFXI, but FFXII was meh, and FFXIII was never even worth playing. I feel like Square should try and stick closer to the roots of the series: turn-based or quasi-turn-based combat using tactic selection. Maybe it's just me. However, there was a time when every Final Fantasy game was not just guaranteed to be worth playing, but guaranteed to be an awesome adventure that would consume your life for 30+ hours.
