I haven't used GM since my last PC, which was about 2 and half years ago.

These days I enjoy hardcore programming in C, or programming interesting things in Common Lisp to cheer me up.

I'm writing an interpreter in C at the moment but I keep procrastinating

In terms of the religion discussion, I am an apatheist - I simply don't care. If there is a god, then as long as he doesn't interfere with my programming I'm not bothered.

Sometimes I prototype stuff in gamemaker, but lately I have noticed that the development time gap is getting smaller.

All of my development lately has revolved around C++, Java, and Unity (specifically C#).

Which brings up an interesting question: how many of us still here actually still use GM and/or U3D?
I have not used Game Maker in years, but I am using Ultimate 3D on a daily basis.
I guess the question is: What are you using U3D on a daily basis for? On a similar topic, I was about to release some desktop games based on the U3D game engine instead of Unity3D, why? Just because. If Dr. Best doesn't have any objections. For the "Indie" arena, what sites do you guys suggest I upload these games to? Steam isn't accepting uploads now, so what sites do you guys suggest? Thanks for the feedback. Scotty

Right now for fancy shadows.

This blog post basically sums up what I think of the new generation of consoles. This quote about the Wii U gamepad in particular:

...They think the touchpad is gimmicky yet when Sony put a little touchpad on the controller, it is cool

(yes I know, more rant about the console wars)

That was painful to read... Doesn't anyone proofread anymore? Not to sound like an anal jerk, but that already significantly lowers the credibility of this post to me.

Some of those exclusives on the Wii U were just pathetic. Wii Fit U and Wii Party U? Really? I don't even want to think about what "Spin the Bottle: Bumpie's Party" is. And while there will be a Wii U Zelda game, we don't know jack squat about it. It could be two or three years before it hits the market. And Disney's Planes... Games based off of movies are almost always terrible.

Let's be fair to the other consoles, though. No one cares about Kinect Sports Rivals, and Forza is, well, Forza. Just a racing game, as far as I'm concerned. Now for the PS4. Everyone hated FFXIV, so people may be skeptical of the "real" FFXIV that Square is making to recover some dignity. Driveclub is like Forza: just a racing game, as far as I can tell.

Interesting.... so....
1) What programming language are you using with it (guessing C++)
2) Fancy shadows huh? What's the nature of the application requiring fancy shadows?
and
3) @DrBest and @Desp
What would be good sites to upload stand alone EXE U3D based games to?
and
4) My U3D login may have been compromised, I'm awaiting confirmation of this so it maybe
awhile before I get back on.

Looking forward to your responses (1 thru 3, 4 will take care of itself).
Scotty

Is that sight specifically for hosting indie games? You know, like "Hey look at all these indie games you can download for FREE!!!" type of sight?
