Yea, We've been in this apartment for about 6 months. It's our first apartment together so were still collecting house stuff and were hoping to get into a house after this.
I've only lived in apartments my whole life. I like it more somehow, it's cozy :P I don't think I would ever buy a house. I would rather buy a very luxurious apartment.

Each to his own, apartment walls here in america are very thin with disrespectful neighbors. I wouldn't mind it if they didn't all congregate outside my window every morning at 0400 and honk their horns. I'm the type of person that needs a yard and a shop, otherwise I feel very restricted.

I can imagine, paper thin wooden walls and stuff :P A bit different from the thick concrete we use here.

Apartments in the US mostly depend on the area. If you live in a bedroom community, most apartments are cheaply built crackerboxes designed for single people, college students, and broke people, because land and houses are cheap. However, if you live in a huge city where land is precious and so houses are expensive, apartments tend to be much more upscale due to the higher percentage of the population living in apartments. I looked at a listing in my area for a five-bedroom home in a nice part of town with tons of amenities (like hardwood floors in the main part of the house and tile in the kitchen). It was $240,000 for just over 3000 square feet. I then looked at a listing in San Diego. $250,000 gets you similar amenities to the house, but it's in a 2-bedroom condo with 875 square feet. A five-bedroom house (which is still twice as old) in San Diego that contains similar amenities to my area is about 600 square-feet less and costs just shy of $600,000. Actually, in the San Diego house, it was implied that it might not have complete air conditioning, since it made mention of heating, but not cooling. Then again, southern California is rather mild most of the year, to my understanding, and may not require a dedicated air conditioner.

Also depends on how cheap your landlord is, you can pay a lot for a really crappy place. Over in the midwest states most apartments are cement or brick. I live in the Northwest, there is too much competition for houses here but land is surprisingly easy to find.

I hear that, I live in a duplex and the neighbors are always loud way early in the morning.
And theyre backyard is full of s*** they stole lol.
On the East Coast though, its very common for people to rent a home or apartment, especially in NYC. I dont think anyone owns a house there.

Anyway heres something sexy.

Been playing way too much kerbal space program. So much that if I want to get anything else done I have to plan it. Luckily my schedule for sleep is flexible.

There's nothing I hate more than waiting for a physics simulation to calculate or an animation to finish rendering when it takes a long time and something goes wrong.
