And you are perfectly sure that that's a way to make a living?
50/50 seems pretty criminal..
If it was $15 a day it would be pretty decent extra cash.

Not perfectly sure, just wanting to venture into that direction. I've used other sites and have had my own, but turbosquid has a ton of traffic. and yes 50/50 is criminal but they allow you to progress and change those numbers. Seeing as they are a huge site with a lot of targeted traffic I'm basically paying for advertisement. Maybe if I kick it in to gear I'll just build a site and pay for real advertising. I agree Desp, I have not put any effort into it in weeks but I keep getting more and more sales and I am just now getting inspired to make more things.

An idea I am trying: make a deviant art account and post renders of each product on there, along with a link to the TS page. Seems to be a really good way to drive traffic.

Working on a 2d RPG in Game Maker Studio. Finished up a real time tile lighting system. Its been a long time since I have done anything like this, but its pretty fun.

Working on a 2d RPG in Game Maker Studio. Finished up a real time tile lighting system. Its been a long time since I have done anything like this, but its pretty fun.

Cool, looks like great fun. I have also been working on a project for a few weeks now, I will show some of it later this week. It's purely graphical at the moment though.

It also seems that it is based on the characters vision as well, or is it just single light lighting right now?

Its character vision. You can't see what's on the other side of doors or behind walls. Its makes the dungeons feel much darker, and more scary.

That is if you use Zetaboard's hosting, which Sothh was not. I just don't like having an image in my quote so I replace the IMG tags with an URL tag.
Or in this case remove the image from the quote alltogether.

Edit: Oh LOL, I see what you mean. But as far as I know Sothh is the only one who came up with this specific solution of using both an external and the Zetaboards file hosting haha

I've actually been working on lighting recently as well. I'm pretty much using a simple deferred shading system which can use normal maps (or not), then calculate light masks for shadows. You can see the light mask texture toggle on for a few seconds at 1:45; Spotlight Shadows

Point lights are also able to cast shadows; Pointlight Shadows

Gotta tighten some stuff up and optimize a bit, but I'm pretty content with it. The spotlight shadows flicker a little due to the gun kinda getting in the lights way >.> Gonna add some filter ability to shadows soon so some objects cast shadows whilst some do not. Also the lights do not have collision so if they go into the level geometry it kinda makes things look weird, so thats also on my to-do list.
