I still come back here to cringe at myself from time to time. :)
I come here once every few months to catch up with all the new activity. When I first joined this community I could barely write a basic game, now I work full-time as a software engineer. Not in gaming though, I'd like to keep that as a hobby. Its been about 10 years now. (Oh, next march its 10 years)
Yeah, it's interesting to see how things change over the years.
I, too, quit game programming and decided to major in physics. I use my programming skills now to explore the features of white dwarfs, neutron stars, and black holes.

We are in the long tail of the lifetime of this forum. I am still waiting for the post count to reach 66,666 :D .

MysteriXYZ ended up being occupied with other things.

If anybody cares to see what I've been up to, you can check my blog. There are some demos there using the latest versions of Ultimate 3D. Also, the publication of my PhD thesis is coming up.

I actually don't suck at programming anymore!

I work as a software engineer as well as some hardware prototyping and R&D

Still want to get back into the game scene, just haven’t had the opportunity yet.

I’ve not found the same sense of community we had here anywhere else.

It’s been almost ten years since U3D stopped being supported, a testament to how fast time goes by.

I’m glad nothing bad happening to MysteriXYZ, I’ve been worried about him for almost a decades 🙃

I guess I am one of the few who still actively work on games as much as during the U3D times. Though I'm primarily using Unity nowadays.

I work on a game engine from time to time, currently making a 2d engine in Irrlicht. Knowing me I probably wont get further than a basic tech demo, but it is at least fun programming game graphics once in a blue moon. I don't have much inspiration anymore for games I want to make :( . Still want to make a game with a story sometime.

Nice game magnar, liked the wall sliding mechanic. Wish the enemy wouldn't damage you on touch though so the melee would be a little easyer.

But the tree stump I scanned down by the river using structure from motion.

Yeah I tend to try to focus on plants first.

I have gotten really good at 3d scanning over the years, you start to automatically know what will scan correctly and what would be easier to just make by hand.

Thank goodness my browser saved my password. Hey old friends. Wow its been years!!!

A lot has changed hey. It's been a while since I looked at code. Since my super computer blew up in flames back in 2012 (I think) and lost ALL my projects, good o ms. Nazle went to business school and eventually graduated into a 9 to 5 white collar desk job number crunching away. Lol. I became a mom too. :D lol.

Will however forever hold special memories on here. I found a lot of comfort in trying to create games with the people on this forum.

I hope some day soon I can resume (or restart) the dream to build an awesome game. :D

Oh well...
