Yes it is a salt...thus the monosodium in it's name. Is it the same as table salt (sodium-chloride)? No.
Sorry, I'm going to leave your beliefs about food alone (I've learned it's not worth it to argue, it won't change anyone's opinion and it just stresses people out), but I do want to correct you on one thing:
Just because it has sodium in it does not mean it is a salt. What makes a salt a salt is that it is the result of a reaction between a base and an acid, and is the cation from the base and the anion from the acid.
Here's the reaction common sodium chloride can be derived from:
HCl + NaOH -> NaCl + H2O

What makes sodium chloride a salt is the fact that it takes the chlorine anion from the hydrochloric acid and the sodium cation from the sodium hydroxide (aka lye) during a reaction between the two.

The following reaction would also result in a salt dissolved (and dissociated) in water:
HNO3 + KOH -> KNO3 + H2O

As well as this one:
HF + LiOH -> LiF + H2O

Both are salts, but neither contain sodium, and the primary uses are not in food. In fact, I wouldn't want to eat either of them, because potassium nitrate is commonly used as fertilizer (and is becoming more common in toothpaste, but toothpaste is not for eating), and lithium fluoride is used in UV optics and is often combined with beryllium fluoride to form a base solvent for use in liquid fluoride nuclear reactors. So a salt does not have to contain sodium, and they don't all have uses in food (You didn't imply this, but I wanted to be clear since MSG is used in food, bad for you or not), it merely needs to be whatever ends up dissolved in water at the end of a neutralization reaction between an acid and a base.

The reason they call MSG a salt is because I guess it could, technically, be derived from a neutralization reaction between glutamic acid and sodium hydroxide. Normally people don't just pop out a flask of lye and that particular amino acid and throw them in a beaker together, but that's probably the reaction that takes place during the fermentation of carbohydrates used to derive MSG. Don't ask me, I'm not an expert on fermentation or the procedures used to process food additives.

Thats some wicked stuff you have got going!

Anyway, I am leaning Panda3D, which supports glow maps (among other things)!

I think I will be using it, until U3D 3.x comes out. (Any word on that Dr. Best?)

The feeling of homesickness never goes away when you return to your parents home from years of being away.

same goes with the smell of ash and smoke from the day you set it ablaze.
