So the question keeps popping up in my head: computer science or computer engineering?

It's not a big issue, because I don't graduate high school for another year and a half, and it won't affect the school I want to go to, but still... It's tough to decide between just raw programming and theory and getting to build and program my own computers with some more programming on the side...

A lot of colleges and universities (if they're any good) include a CompSci minor as a prereq to CompEng, as well as an optional Electrical Engineering minor. First, look at the CompSci and CompEng programs of the places you have in mind. Although it sometimes requires a bit of digging, every college and university should tell you the curriculum all online, and from comparing classes, you can easily see if they include the CompSci in the CompEng program.

Job and future wise, I would consider going into Computer Engineering. The field is ridiculously huge, and while just software and just hardware guys might have trouble getting a job, a dude that can do both is obviously more valuable.

Of course, in this case, I'm a biased son of a bitch who is actually going down the Computer Engineering route and considering doing a double or triple major - just because the classes are actually fun while still challenging. Also, if I can't get a job by the end of it, and I'm sick and tired of school, I also considering Digipen (not too far away geography wise), although that's more of a dream than an actual plan (it's like backup plan number 32 or somewhere around there).

Seriously, man, I wouldn't worry about it. I didn't know what major I wanted to do until I graduated high school - scratch that, I really wanted to do something with my hands AND with a keyboard, so I figured at the end of high school, why not Computer Engineering. You seem like the guy that would enjoy it as much as I do (except for the barely passing general education courses while scoring 100 percent on the actual pertinent courses, that's kind of silly) so give it a whirl. Also, once you choose a major, it's not like you're damned to do it for the rest of your life. As long as you change your major before your Junior year of college or university, you won't have to spend too much extra money on classes, and most of the entry level courses count for GE credit for other majors. Like CompSci 121, that fulfills the philosophy GE requirement for many other majors.

But yeah, enjoy your highschool.

Also, if you're not going to apply for some super dickery college like MIT or other mega-name schools, then honor classes are utter bullshit. AP classes are good, if you take the AP test, but a lot of colleges don't accept all AP tests. Honors classes are basically bragging rights, and are completely different than honors classes in college, which actually puts you on a graduating time of 2 or 3 years.

Oh yeah, also, before I forget, CompSci majors at most schools now take an average of five years to complete. I'm still on four years with a double minor, so just pass your classes and don't listen to the advisor's advice one-hundred percent, and you'll be fine.

I've looked at the curriculum for computer science and computer engineering at the school I want to go to (BYU), and I can easily get a minor in computer science through the computer engineering coursework. I won't have to take the introductory programming course (CS 142 at BYU) because I made a 5 on the AP Computer Science exam. I don't graduate until 2013, though, so I guess it's not a big deal to worry about it.

I graduate college in 2013. :)

I feel like I should have bought a bigger turkey.

Eight pounds only two helpings for two people.

But booyah, forgot to put butter on some things, ended up making some sort of caramel material on the bottom of one of the pans (I ended up chewing a small piece of it for about five minutes), and goofed up on making vegetables, but yay, dinner for today. If I drank alcohol, I'd probably be trashed right now.

wow, found some really old stuff

http://s9.zetaboards.com/Ultimate3D_community/topic/172570/1/ --> ruins (first and favorite shiz, was going to play as a nalian kicking in a nearly-deserted city)
http://s9.zetaboards.com/Ultimate3D_community/topic/7052717/1/ --> stickman...so many broken links
http://s9.zetaboards.com/Ultimate3D_community/topic/7117386/1/ --> sand and sky (the ruins idea surfaces again! lol) (funny also how i have an arc planned for my comic involving a jet bike racer named sand)
http://s9.zetaboards.com/Ultimate3D_community/topic/7162416/1/ --> animation (testing facial animation for sea and storm)
http://s9.zetaboards.com/Ultimate3D_community/topic/7175572/1/ --> sea and storm r5 (hahah it actually is better than I thought, and runs ridiculously fast with having too much stuff while retaining gameplay, just needs good textures)

lol i find this stuff kind of neat. like, it's not that bad, i thought it would be a lot worse. it's like i put way too much time on these, and I like how each project reset corresponds with a hard drive failure (damn seagate lol)

From my point of view you are sitting on the left side, but upside down :) Atleast, if you're living in America. Buut then again, I'd be sitting on the right side from the Japanese point of view :C It was all much easyer when the world was still flat like a pan cake.

Fun fact: I've been trying to pancake a sphere all day. Not quite working yet  .
