It could be anything. I didnt read the whole topic, how old / messed up is your current windows installation?
well i did a clean restore a while ago...needless to say there have been a few minor adjustments since then and one or two small trojans but i have all the security measures in place and scans detect no malware. i also have automatic updates up and running currently.

I dont think this is software... Is you case dusty inside?
Make sure by giving a good blow with compressed air.
Then if all else fails.. you may have done some light static damage when you changed the fan..
Remove any extra hardware devices.. usb components ect.. Try swaping out system components.. try the Ram and Gpu first.
Else you may have static GIGED your motherboard.. :(

Tempretures under heavy stress.

Cpu: 44*C "core i5 660"
Gpu: 53*C "295GTX asus"
Power supply: 39*C "true power"
WTh howd ya do that, liquid cooling?

Good thing mobo's arent that expensive.

I had a similair experience once. it was gamemake 's fault. after reinstalling everything kinda worked.

(Wouldnt be suprised if updates killed your pc. Meh, I hate updates. microsoft ruined my trust in them. only updates I like are ati/mobo driver updates)

My heatsink wieght is 2KG.. solid copper core with aluminium fins.
2 volcano turbine fans pullling heat dirrectly away from it..

I'm not gona let the summer burn me a new one..

Yeah.. my Win 7 install has only critical updates.
Also making sure you don't have 1000 backgound processes running from all the crap i install helps a shit load.
Cuz 90% it's some vunerability caused by a 3rd party app..

and DONT USE XP unless it is fully updated and you have eset nod32 AV. else your just a cheap online target.

crashed 10 times this morning

i am leery of automatic updates too, only reason i install them is the supposedly help prevent viruses.

screen now has blue tint for no reason...at least it matches my personality

my 2nd toaster oven blew up today for no reason

yes my pc is dusty and i have touched the mobo with my hands although that was a long time ago.

maybe the problem has something to do with the power at my house. error code of bsod is 0007f

it may crash again at any moment, they seem to coincide with the toaster ovens

Searched around a bit and found this:
Internet

0007F is a faulty Memory Error, either your RAM Memory Modules on your motherboard or your Graphics Card. Also, it could be newly installed software or hardware. Go Figure...

But it may be anything, if I were you I'd reinstall my windows instalation ;)

Why should he remove his hard-drives? Nothing indicates any thing wrong with them? I think that its just your windows-installation which is a little "screwed-up". Maybe try reinstall before trying anything else? If you remove your hard-drives you have to install windows again, so you got nothing to lose? Or?

You miss understood.. this sound clearly like a hardware failure.. harddrive are most of the time re-use able.

Nothing says its a hard-drive failure, his BSOD errors say its a memory error, or it could be anything. If I were him, I'd first try to reinstall, it may be a failing driver(Which it is by most BSOD cases). And he has nothing to lose by trying a reinstall, he have to reinstall if he replaces his harddrive aswell. But if it was a hard-drive fail, I doubt it will cause random BSOD's...

Oh! Sorry! You meant buy a new computer? xD, then I'm with you! But I still recommend a reinstall, as a last try. You cant use your old windows installation on a new computer anyway ;)

If it is a hardware failure and not caused by some malicious program or faulty system configuration, then it must be a rather serious one because I just did a full system recovery only a couple of months ago.
