I've been doing some research today about different historical swords for my game, and I found one pretty interesting that caught my attention, the German Zweihänder (two-hander) sword, which was in service around 1300 - 1700. The longest one could reach around 180 cm and weigh around 3 kilos. Pretty impressive for such a big sword, and I can imagine it also did some serious damage. The Spanish Espadon Morges is also a pretty cool and evil looking sword. I will most likely have them both in my game just cause they're so special ;)

Finally, there's the Flamberge but I guess we all already know about that one.

Do you know any other cool and rare sword types? Post pics!

EDIT: Flamberge is a Zweihander, btw, only the designs can differ.

Not rare, but I like the katana very much, there are also smaller variants which you can carry with you very easily. The katana is lightweight so its an ideal sword for people that need to be mobile.

I'm more a fan of big 2-hand long swords :D
