This thread is so... Hey.. my 'Wiener' is bigger than yours..
No it's not.. your is tiny.
Don't lie... mine is huge compared..

Anyway..
When Xp pro was popular i remember a shell replacement called LiteStep.
What do you do with spare cpu power? run virtual machines, network them.. an you have a work force.
Dedicate a extra screen to that and it becomes easier.

but @ skarik.. i have to say... that is a freaking impressive piece of hardware.

Well consider that your system is 5 years old.

You can pick up a

Quad core AMD Chip.
Motherboard
2x 4GB ram "for dirt cheap"
Get a fresh power supply 500W
Add a Graphics card, hard drive, case and you are in a faster world.

If you spend this kind of cash on it, you deserve to brag.

If I get a job I applied for, I am going to build me a new one.

My current machine is almost 4 years old.

At least I should already be ale to run Skyrim. :)

AMD's are cool and inexpensive but I kinda like Intel better. A bit more stable.

I used BBlite on windows xp, its kinda like the old fashioned linux shell. runs quickly too.

I probally dont have to upgrade in a while, im not really a gamer and other applications work well enough, (not having to and not going to are two different things tho)
