Hi,
I have been writing games with GameMaker for about 8 months now and very early on I realized that to create a decent 3d game, I would need something else. That is when I discovered U3d. I like it so far.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with Torque or TGE. If so, would you recommend it? Why or why not?
Is it any more useful to the game designer/programmer than C++?

I would recommend it because it's one of the best 3d engine out there in terms of price to quality ratio. And correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Torque used with C++?

@ Despellanion:

I am not sure. Just glancing at some of the scripts in the book I was looking at, Torque seems very similar to C++, though.

@ Reikurr

Yes, I think I will look more into the open source stuff for now. From what I can gather, a license (I always misspell that word!) for Torque is like $1000. There are plenty of great games written with C++, so I think I'll keep my money.

Thanks guys for your input!
