Why would you want one? There are much more efficient ways of getting to space...

Actually, an elevator would save on building disposable rockets and rocket fuel, one of the most expensive parts of space travel. |

I think that the fuel and expense involved in building a structure over 20 miles high and the fuel used to power the elevator would be equal to many, many disposable rockets and their fuel. I haven’t even gone onto the physical problems yet... |
