Have you ever made a website and then forgot the login credentials and years later it's still active?

if you have, post a link to the site.

If you forget the ftp login to your site, then it probably wasn't a very important site :P

Changed my password then forgot it. Tried password recovery until I gave up after countless unsuccesful tries.

I would love to go there, first priority for travel. I studied a little dutch but never got deep into it. In the north west united states being able to speak spanish will get you higher pay. Being able to speak any European language is a novelty here.

Wow, I never knew that neither English nor Spanish are European languages.

I probably should have said "any *other European language". But here, English is the first most common, Spanish is the second, Chinese is the third and french is the fourth.

Actually, being able to speak anything other than English or Spanish is a novelty. I had a physics teacher who bragged endlessly about her brother who spoke Turkish and was a football coach in Turkey (strangely, I think it was American football, not association football). She was so proud of it that she would call him up in the middle of class (it was about 3:00 PM in my class at the time, so it was around 11:00 PM for him) to have him say something in Turkish for us. I wouldn't be surprised if what he said was actually something along the lines of, "Kids, I'm sorry my sister is a stupid ditzy chipmunk on helium. She's a horrible teacher, and she's obnoxious for waking me up in the middle of the night." People are highly impressed when my dad says he speaks Japanese. Foreign exchange students at my school have no difficulty finding admirers.

Well, it is quite easy to find somebody speaking English in most places, so I guess US citizens have rather little motivation to learn other languages.

I can speak two languages fluently, English and German. English is pretty much the language for all sorts of work I'm doing whereas German is simply my mother tongue. I've been learning French for four years, but I'm miserable at it.

Probably, I would not be fluent in any language other than German, if that would happen to be the language for international science and media.

Yes there is little motivation, only 2 years of a foreign language are required to graduate high school(in most places). I feel as though the European education system is much different.
