We sit here in this day and age wondering why we have forgotten our history, not even knowing what it is that we have forgotten. Our ancestors left giant stone remnants of themselves because they knew that if it was in stone it would be forever. If leaving something in stone isn't even effective, then how can anything we've done in this age be remembered? The only things left after this age will be machinery, if it hasn't rusted entirely away by then. We naturally set our future selves up to forget the past, and we're okay with that. Because we're made to live without knowing, but we're not okay with not knowing. |

If we leave something, it will be a ruined planet. If not, we and our machines will still be there to tell the tale. |

We live in the digital age so we have obviously much more sophisticated ways of storing things for the ages. You can throw a digital camera with a memory card full of photos into the ocean, and let it wash up several years later, and still be able to extract and view the photos from it. And what about all our skyscrapers and monuments made in reinforced steel, iron and stone? Those will undoubtedly last quite a while even after man is gone and no one is maintaining it.

It's just that I feel the ancient people had great information, and we have no idea how to even classify and categorize that info. I mainly don't want that to happen again. Apparently we are learning how to modify mass with sound waves(I used to know what it was called) And I feel they knew this a long time ago, and that's how the big stones were moved all over the place. |
