anyone know much about circuitry? I need a photoresistor to turn on a small pump as soon as it gets dark, run for ten minutes then shut off. I think the easiest way would be to use arduino but definitely not the cheapest.

Grab a freeduino same thing.. arduino will do fine.

What size is the pump how many Volts, Amps, Watts, ect.
Do you have to use a solar cell.
or just detect when the light gets dark and turn on the motor.

I might just use freeduino. but I am charging with a solar panel so i need very little power consumption. and the motor needs to run just once a night.

You may want to look into the sleep commands for the ardiuno.
