From Aug 2006 - Nov 2013 WeDig provided a live forum for diggers & fans of Vindolanda. It has now been mothballed and will be maintained as a live archive.

Here you will find preserved 7 years of conversation, photos, & knowledge about a site many people love. Vindolanda gets under the skin. (Figuratively and literally as a volunteer excavator!) It's a place you remember, filled with people you remember!

Thanks for 7 great years!

2010 Excavation Application Is Live!
The excavations are now fully booked for 2010, in record time. Many thanks to you all and we can't wait to meet you in the trenches next summer.

all the best,

Andrew

Any flooding on site?
Wet but still afloat. Plenty of rain has slowed the set-up of the construction village for the HLF project, but not substantially. The site has not fared too badly, and no flooding in the museum. We are just on the edge of the weather front, so we have dodged the bullet this time.

2010 Excavation Application Is Live!
Only 5 places left on the excavation applications for 2010. 2 with Justin and 3 with Andrew. If you wish to be one of the last five to book in now is your chance.

560 one week places have been filled, and we are delighted to welcome so many people on what we hope will be an excellent excavation this year.

all the best,

Andrew

2010 Excavation Application Is Live!
As of today, the 11th of November, we only have 50 of the 560 places left for the 2010 season, so we expect that the excavation applications for the 2010 season will be officially full in a couple of weeks. Many thanks to all of those who have booked for next year. Both Justin and I are looking forward to meeting you in the trenches, and a special warm welcome to new Vindolanda volunteers.

best,

Andrew
