From Aug 2006 - Nov 2013 WeDig provided a live forum for diggers & fans of Vindolanda. It has now been mothballed and will be maintained as a live archive.

Here you will find preserved 7 years of conversation, photos, & knowledge about a site many people love. Vindolanda gets under the skin. (Figuratively and literally as a volunteer excavator!) It's a place you remember, filled with people you remember!

Thanks for 7 great years!

Oh yes, and because Vindolanda is a family show, Tony's knees have been pixelated under the normal rules of censorship! ;)

Oh no! I have very fond memories of Tony's knees, and would like to see them again. Do you think you are maybe interpreting the guidelines rather too strictly?? What do others think?

online or distance learning courses?
Hi, I wondered if anyone has tried any online or distance learning courses on archaeology and/or Roman Britain etc. I would be interested to hear what courses are available and any feedback on how good [or not] they were?
Thanks,
Marilyn

Excavations
Yes it was so exciting to actually see a tablet being found and taken up out of the trench: a great end to a fantastic two weeks digging. No doub the rest of the season will have more surprises in store for those of you yet to get your hands mucky. I look forward to hearing all about it.
