From Aug 2006 - Nov 2013 WeDig provided a live forum for diggers & fans of Vindolanda. It has now been mothballed and will be maintained as a live archive.

Here you will find preserved 7 years of conversation, photos, & knowledge about a site many people love. Vindolanda gets under the skin. (Figuratively and literally as a volunteer excavator!) It's a place you remember, filled with people you remember!

Thanks for 7 great years!

Session 11
Forgot to mention in the email that the top five pics would be great. Much as I like Justin (great name after all), I think I can forego the high res shot of him. B)

Thanks Pete, can you give us access to full size versions? I'd love to see these in more detail because there's various bits there that I was working on in July.

Also, a great relief to hear that "Robber Trench II" is looking to be much narrower than the first one (mentioned in Justin's tweet today). Possibly similar volume of earth disturbed in each of them, but it was looking like the new one might be significantly bigger.

Session 10
Wow, a lot has indeed happened in two weeks, amazing progress.

After looking at the video a second time I'm struck by how different the southeast part appears, with respect to the huge slabs that have been used as a floor. The line of those now seem to form a much longer diagonal, pushing much further in a northwesterly direction. Perhaps they made a new building that avoided the slumping areas Andy points out? Also intriguing to see that this "diagonal building" (if that's what it is) seems to end at the large circular, boulder filled pit. Some very interesting stuff going on, as always.

Session 10
All quiet on the Western Northern Front I guess...
