From Aug 2006 - Nov 2013 WeDig provided a live forum for diggers & fans of Vindolanda. It has now been mothballed and will be maintained as a live archive.

Here you will find preserved 7 years of conversation, photos, & knowledge about a site many people love. Vindolanda gets under the skin. (Figuratively and literally as a volunteer excavator!) It's a place you remember, filled with people you remember!

Thanks for 7 great years!

Found a photo from 2005.
As the time lapse project is still in planning I have found a few photos which show changes to the site over a season.

Sorry should check my photo data. The dates are August 2005. I found two more, one of the western wall dig and also in the Vicus. not sure of the location if any one can shed light on the subject. All taken at the same visit

Seasons greetings, not that long since this section of wall was excavated (2009?) but thought the contrast was interesting. I reckon the trust could do a iphone dig countdown app, sales may be sluggish though! Roman numerals only.

Sounds like a great idea if the plan comes together, I'm up for taking a few photos on my weeks on site
Happy Christmas and have a jolly new year.

An Archeology Fix
All Greek to me? Slightly older graffiti in Philae temple near Aswan.

An Archeology Fix
This leaving your mark on historic monuments seems to be onging, this photographed on the wall of a gun emplacement on the remote Loch Ewe. Home of the Arctic convoys during WW2.
