From Aug 2006 - Nov 2013 WeDig provided a live forum for diggers & fans of Vindolanda. It has now been mothballed and will be maintained as a live archive.

Here you will find preserved 7 years of conversation, photos, & knowledge about a site many people love. Vindolanda gets under the skin. (Figuratively and literally as a volunteer excavator!) It's a place you remember, filled with people you remember!

The Tuesday Pub Quiz in the Twice brewed once again was a cuel mix of difficult questions & other teams playing the dreaded joker card which chopped our points in half however one Vindolanda team did win through, there's always next week.

Wow what a great warm sunny spring day, workers happy in the sun. No deturfing today with plenty of trowel work in progress.

Great news for 2012 diggers who battled the spring water, the Vindolanda Trust is putting it to good use again by recreating the aqueduct using the existing remains and specially commissioned fibreglass replica sections

A blustery day but mainly sunny if cold, major deturfing underway only interrupted by heavy hailstones for 10 minutes.

Another session and entering May, the weather is looking fine for the start of these two weeks lets hope the weather gods stay in good cheer. Two thirds of Wedig admin are encamped in the twice Brewed this session! We hope live up to the amazing effort put in by the pervious weeks.

I enjoyed the visit yesterday, final day of period 1 here's hoping for a dry day. Period 2 diggers pack your cameras!
For those looking for the ideal gift I note in the shop you can now buy the Vindolanda toilet kit! Pre packed sponge on a stick. I bought the new look beanie hat and very warm it is too.
