It has been a very frustrating week so far. Monday was lovely with the sun shining although the rain the previous day required the people who had already dug this year to bail out whilst the rest of us were inducted and shown around the museum. Tuesday morning, Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday were called off.

We are split into 4 teams working in different areas. One team if working in the centurians quarters at the left hand side northern end of temple avenue. Another group is working beneath the barrack blocks to the left of the temple avenue and digging up pre hadrianic pottery which is interesting. A third group is at the bottom of temple avenue over to the right hand side. It seems to be a mix of road, ditch, drain etc so no clear picture at this stage. The fourth group is at the bottom of temple avenue over to the left hand side. Again no clear picture at the moment but I will try and get more information tomorrow and upload some pictures as the forecast is for a good day. Fingers crossed.
