From Aug 2006 - Nov 2013 WeDig provided a live forum for diggers & fans of Vindolanda. It has now been mothballed and will be maintained as a live archive.

Here you will find preserved 7 years of conversation, photos, & knowledge about a site many people love. Vindolanda gets under the skin. (Figuratively and literally as a volunteer excavator!) It's a place you remember, filled with people you remember!

Thanks for 7 great years!

Get a life everyone! Bet you don't clean this much at home!!

Seriously though, it must have had an effect as we all were asked to regularly clean our equipment with the weather conditions being what they were. It is (hopefully) just common sense but perhaps putting it into the pre-dig talk as a quick reminder might help? Not just for newbies I hasten to add. Anyways, there are plenty of nice shiny new buckets, kneelers, brushes and spades this year ( although I preferred the older spades to be honest, they cut the turf better).
