Thanks for posting for those of us waiting to start ,great shots. Hope the week 3 diggers are armed with cameras? I see the ditch/swimming pool has been pumped out!

Yeah, they did that towards the end of the week I think for fear of some of us being drowned if they got any fuller. It was a bit scary to see how deep they actually were, but I don't think the frogs and frogspawn were that impressed! I hadn't seen anything like the pie-crust before (except on a Greggs pasty pre-tax...) and was disappointed that there wasn't any more. Maybe it's hiding at a deeper level. |

The photos are great. Makes my trowel arm twitchy. At the rate the dig is progressing the whole field could be uncovered by the last week in August. |
