No excavation this week, Andy, Justin and Kate are recording the site amongst other things prior to session 7 starting on the 1st July again. However the site is open for business if anyone's visiting the area and don't forget the Friends of Vindolanda evening this Saturday 29th June. If anyone who has not yet booked then let the Trust know if you plan to attend. I'm looking forward to it and hope to meet a few fellow diggers (mud on clothes optional) . PS the evening is free to attend if you are a Friend of Vindolanda which as an excavator you should already be. Edited by snowglobe, Jun 25 2013, 03:18 AM.

Friends Evening 2013 was grey and a bit drizzly and the west wind was cold for this time of year, so the Hog Roast was very welcome. We had a short welcome in the Museum gardens, after the Hog Roast and amongst the midges! then the walk up the hill for a talk by Justin, Andy. Beth gave her talk in the North Field. We were all so cold that the Twicey got a lot of extra custom ![]() |
