Member Posts: 310 Group: Admin Member #524 Joined: May 6, 2010	No excavation this week, Andy, Justin and Kate are recording the site amongst other things prior to session 7 starting on the 1st July again. However the site is open for business if anyone's visiting the area and don't forget the Friends of Vindolanda evening this Saturday 29th June. If anyone who has not yet booked then let the Trust know if you plan to attend. I'm looking forward to it and hope to meet a few fellow diggers (mud on clothes optional) . Malise McGuire Posts: 108 Group: Members Member #41 Joined: December 2, 2006	Friends Evening 2013 was grey and a bit drizzly and the west wind was cold for this time of year, so the Hog Roast was very welcome. We had a short welcome in the Museum gardens, after the Hog Roast and amongst the midges! then the walk up the hill for a talk by Justin, Andy. Beth gave her talk in the North Field. Justin explaining the complex building sequence within the SE corner of the fort, the spoil heap disappearing in the background. A great turn out of enthusiastic diggers and supporters. Andy in the Vicus area before it is back filled Andy explaining how the Vicus buildings will be returned to anaerobic conditions after backfilling.
