I got a minnkota 101 on my boat. I really like it. I had a motorguide on the previous boat and didn't really notice any difference besides the power. I wanted to know the difference between the 2 also. A lot of people told me to go with a minnkota because it's a quieter motor. Originally when I was shopping for my boat, I was going to get a 80lb. But when I looked at the price difference, I just paid the extra $100 more. If you compared the price difference between the 80lb and 101lb, there's not much of a difference in price. You would have to buy an extra battery and get another charger if you don't have an open bank on your current charger. It's worth the extra money to get more power. There were times when I really needed the power to get out of the tulles and weeds. The 101 motor just hacks right through everything. I would think a 101 would be more suited for your boat since you have a 20ft boat. |
