You guys aint' gonna like this 'cause you're all tied up in the Gami/Owner hype, but don't overlook Eagle Claw hooks. i've never missed a fish 'cause it's an Eagle Claw hook. Just make sure it's sharp. Eagle Claw has some extra-long shanks and their hook numbers don't seem to follow the standard set by other manufacturers and tend to run bigger. the #3.5 worm hook is long with a wide gap seems to be a great hook for hogs and senko's, though i still use Gami's for senko's. i have some extra-wide tubes that EC seems to have an answer for. when BPS opens they, or Fisherman's warehouse will be a good source. they're also about a tenth the price, leaving more $$ to fuel those long runs. |
