I tried out your braid + mono leader deal for flipping this past weekend. I liked how it handled. Only problem was when I snagged up on rocks, I'd break off right where the two lines joined. You have a special knot for that? I've been using the double uni. Hit or miss bite on Sat. Mostly miss for us. Did have three blowups on a frog, landed one. Thought it'd be better today after all that heat, but it wasn't. Had a 3 first thing on a wakebait, only one swirl on the frog. Blew a trailer tire on the way home too. What a day. Tons of carp just slamming things under the weed mats. When the carp are feeding so violently and aggressively, does that mean it's time to move? Or, are the bass still around because there must be plenty of food in the area?
