Advanced Member Posts: 236 Group: Members Member #3 Joined: April 8, 2008	another day on the delta good bite but no fish over three lbs. we fished south all day had a lot of fun with a buzzbait the buzz bite was on till about 1:30 fish were shallow 1 to 5 feet our best 5 went 11 1/2. first place had 18 they were on the same bite buzz a cranks,better luck next time.

Brit - i bet you didn't throw a jig or finese bait, eh? i thought about going out today (sunday) but we're looking at post-front conditions and a considerable change in temps. there will be a better bite next weekend if we can find fish that FLW left alone. maybe Rio Vista for smallies.

I'm sitting here wishing I could have gone out today.(wife and kid are really sick) 'Guess I'll tell myself that the post-frontal conditions would have sucked. One of my friends fished yesterday, too, and said he found around 15lbs fishing the weedlines in Victoria w/ brushhogs. They also had a couple of stripers on ripbaits.

Advanced Member Posts: 236 Group: Members Member #3 Joined: April 8, 2008	not much of a front we only saw rain for about 5 min. that was it. we fished victoria till about 1:30 just could'nt get the big fish camryn missed one good one on a swim bait, no finese baits till december for me. jig's i have yet to catch a fish on a jig so i just keep em in my boat to look cool & to throw at crazy jet skiers, just kidding i like jet skiers --- on the beach that is. Hey Steve H. when ever you want to go catch some smallies in rio vista let me know so i can follow you up, never seen a smallie at wiegh in before. G no the blue tracker boys didnt place they left after wiegh in so i dont think they did verry well. two other brothers won to bad it wasn't randy & I.

Member Posts: 17 Group: Members Member #8 Joined: May 18, 2008	hey all, brent and i went out of holland today, sunday oct 5. it totally and completly sucked. we fished franks, little mandiville and taylor slough. brent caught 1 large on a wake bait and i threw the lunker in the morning, jigs, burned a lv500 along the rocks, senko, and swim bait, everything i had just about. brent even tried drop-shoting and nothing. everyone we came across said pretty much the same thing most gave up and were catching strippers. on guy had about a 20lb stripper in the well. every one was blaming the weather system. any way i hope you guys are right and next week is better for ya. joe

Hmmmm......... Posts: 84 Group: Members Member #2 Joined: April 8, 2008	it's s'posed to be a good, stable week weather wise. my biggest concern are the 200 FLW boats that are boing to be beating up on my fish. hopefully things will pan out and calm down by next sunday, nccc day.

Hmmmm......... Posts: 84 Group: Members Member #2 Joined: April 8, 2008	i have heard there are smallies and even some spots in the delta, somewhere. i know there's s'posed to be a decent smallie population in Georgiania Slough up by B&W but no one goes there 'cause of the huge 5mph zone. i've played golf in Fresno and seen smallies in the San Joaquin's clear water down there. it makes sense that there are a few in the delta. long way to go by boat. you guys spend way too much time in the south delta; it's too muddy for smallies. try your hand at catfish! i've recently taken up archery and am looking forward to the carp spawn! Brittyn, can i use your livewell?? I'd ask G, but his boat's in the shop. or will be soon.

Advanced Member Posts: 219 Group: Members Member #4 Joined: April 8, 2008	He told me only one boat weighed in with a limit of 13lbs. The rest of the boats didn't weigh in. I think there were a total of 8 boats. Fishing is pretty tough.
