I'm anxious to see the Documentary at the Sydney Film Festival if time permits, but in the event that I and others may not be able to attend, will there be an official DVD release to purchase later on down the track? It would be something to have, hold and treasure for the ages. Can anyone in the know shed some light on this please? thanks in advance...

Heard Paul Oliver interviewd this arvo on my way home from work on 2GB, hementioned theyre going to try and organise a 3rd screening for the film festival (first two sold out, biggest selling movie of the festival) free to air viewing will be arranged later and a DVD will also be on the agenda.

:D They took callers with memories of the time, one bloke called graeme rang and mentioned his dad was a massive Magpie fan, so much so he named his kids after some players, Graeme (O'Grady) John (Dorahy) and Janelle (John Elford  )

Cheers Ink, that's bloody sensational news. Free-to-Air and a DVD release in time.

Would be great if they can get another day of Screening up. I couldn't make the 19th and 24th due to work and coaching commitments.

I went tonight and i thought it was great.

It appeared that Magpies fans easily outnumbered Manly fans.

I went out there tonight as well and had an absolute ball. This is a terrific documentary. A credit to Paul Oliver, Wests, Kevin Hammond, Dennis Burgess and others who put it together.

A few comments:

1. Hartley the cheat is still in denial that he made mistakes.
2. Arko is still as arrogant as ever.

The multiple sell outs this documentary has had shows that there is a market for this kind of film. Great aspects of the social history of Sydney are told through Rugby League stories. Let's hope some more people make docos.

You sure did :correct:

Shannon Gallant will be giving it to Joe Cool for his dropped bomb, that's for sure.

Was a great film. Being too young to have experienced that era, but having heard so much about it, the film actually filled me in on the passion and mentality Wests had back then. Really a good insite into a past era.

Also was great to see so many Magpies jumpers in the crowd and not many Manly ones

I loved it when people were booing Arko!!!!

I did a bit of a club count. I had a Newtown tracksuit and someone else had a Jets T-shirt. girvie wore his Bears jersey with pride and there were loads of Wests people (understandably).

I cannot wait till this film goes to air. If it goes on DVD, buy it through the proper channels. The makers of this doco deserve all the coin they get from it - a wonderful film and hopefully the first of many more to come.

I thought it would have been out by now.

Maybe Criag can ask Paul Oliver what's happening with it.

:letmesee: I wonder if we can't organise a special screening at Dumaresq St?

Might have to look into that one.
