Stephen Kearney Date of Birth 11/06/1972 Playing career 1992 - 1994 Western Suburbs Magpies 1995 - 1998 Auckland Warriors 1999 - 2004 Melbourne Storm 2005 Hull F.C Stephen Kearney (born June 11, 1972 in Paraparaumu, New Zealand) was a New Zealand rugby league player. Kearney started with the Kapiti Bears. Turning professional he then played for the Western Suburbs Magpies, Auckland Warriors and the Melbourne Storm in the Australian National Rugby League competition before finishing his career with Hull FC in the English Super League competition. Kearney represented the New Zealand national team on many occasions, captaining them on multiple occasions. His position of choice was in the second row. In 1993 he was the Kiwis youngest test captain. Kearney in 2007 is an assistant coach at the Melbourne Storm. |
