On The Sunday Roast, Paul Langmack said that he was taking part in the relay, so hopefully other more “recent” former players will be involved, too. Can’t wait. Hope the weather treats us kindly, too!! |

That's fantatic news DA. Langers was a long and loyal servant of the Black and White who stuck solid with the Maggies whilst others left for apparent greener pastures, he battled on and lead the club through the 90's with his strong captaincy, expereince and leadership. From memory, he was the Dally M Captain of the year in 1995. It's good and more so refreshing to see a modern Magpie great involved. Let's hope this is just the beginning as the club should be aspiring to get as many former club men from the more modern day era's involved in all capacities. |

There was an advertisment in Big League calling all ex NRL players from Wests/Balmain/Wests Tigers to contact the club to be a part of the festivities. I was meant to tell Kenny Mac about it, but didnt really get the chance and besides I think he prefers to lay low in regards to RL these days. Would of been great to have as many players there as possible tho. I'll be there tomorrow, transport is proving a nightmare though as there is only 5 buses all day from my area into Liverpool and I don't want to drive.. so I may arrive late. Hopefully the weather holds up ok and we all have a terrific proud day there and a great entertaining match. |

The press release is wrong because while wests v balmain was the 'main event', the first actual first grade game was at 2.15pm- Norths v Souths as it was part 1 of the double header, i mean obviously we were the main event but they had to give us time to get the ferry back to the otherside!
