Two good wins on Thursday night by the Matts and Ball. The Matts won 12 - 8. Groat and Atau were particularly good. It was 12 nil for most of the match and Balmain scored 2 tries in the last 10 minutes when it was over. The Ball tucked it under their arm for about 55 of the 70 minuntes and ran straight and hard. As a result they won 28 - 14. It's a simple game really. A real good team performance. They dropped some ball in the second half which put them under alot of pressure on their own line but they just stuck at it, which was great to see. As long as they keep running like that every week the season will get better for them. Importantly, Kennedy at hooker gets the team moving in the right direction. The boys shold be proud of the game they played last night. |

Congrats to all involved with both teams. It's been a tough start to the year, but you can build on these results and finish the season strongly. Ball amazingly is back in the hunt for the 8 thanks to this win. Probably need to win their last four games but with the Bears, Titans, Roosters and Raiders this is doable. 12 points might just be enough. Matts also has a much easier draw to finish with only the 4th placed Roosters in the eight of the teams they face. Bring it home guys. |

Groat is a talent. Big prop who can pass before the line. Good wins by the Rep teams. They seem to have a good record against Balmain also ? |

Playing Penrith, Canterbury and Parramatta st the start of the year was always going to be a bit rough. I think it's all part of the NSWRL still having the dirts that they couldn't kick us out all those years ago! Now they are taking it out on our poor juniors by making them play the heavyweights all at once lol. This year we celebrate 100 years of persecution by the league! Seriously though I hope for the boys own sakes they keep it up for the next games. Playing like that every week will at least give them a shot. |
