He wasn't the first & he hasn't been the last but he does show that if you are a good enough player you it don't give up. HM's & Ball are good stepping stones but they aren't the only path. |

I would kill to have him back at Wests. Can you imagine having him and T'eo partnering one another in the backrow? Mayhem I tell you. How great would it be if Wests were in a position to 'buy back the farm' so to speak? Folau, Hayne, Inu, Hoffman, Pritchard, Cashmere, Bott, Paea, Tautai, Pritchard, Roberts, Su'a, DeGois, Lett. I guess it just goes to show that you can't keep them all. But i'm sure there isn't one NRL team running around without a Wests Junior in their ranks. Pritchard 'if' released should be persued heavily by Wests Tigers. I'd hate to see a player of his calibre at his age lost to the UK. |

but the magpies ball and matts sides are just full of politics, and is a reason why neither side is fairing well this year. |

Most footy clubs are full of politics. As are most work places. This will always raise its head in areas where there is competition for spots. Does the club often get it wrong... probably. But I bet every team in the comp has players that "Got away" |

It's just that Western Suburbs seem to have more that 'Got Away' than others, which is the concerning thing and is an issue that must be addressed. You'll never escape politicis, it's rife at mod league age let alone junior reps. But a player ability and talent should come before all that. Time for some new blood perhaps in the Junior Magpie Development ranks? |

Do you blame players at that age looking elsewhere though. They don't have a senior rep team based in the area. Senior players to nurture them, visit them at school on a regular basis or attend a training session to give some tips etc. If a rival club comes knocking with a handful of cash you be crazy not to take it. Free tuition fees, free registration fees etc. Makes a difference for a struggling family out Campbelltown way. These new Development team squads that the Wests Tigers introduced are suppose to combat this sort of scenario aren't they ? I cannot fault the junior league though, they do a good job with the limited resources they have. It's time there senior partners helped out. |

Players attitude is also sometimes just as or more important than ability. |

The whole Wests Group has a interest in the junior league. From the Wests Tigers to the Wests Magpies. |

I can't see the Magpie doing too much more. They just don't have the resources. |

That's where Wests Tigers should step in if the resources aren't available or accessible. The Western Suburbs junior nursery is future talent pool that Wests Tigers will look for and towards utilising. And it currently is already producing the goods and results via the likes of Lawrence, Tagive, Gibbs, Collis, Fulton, McDonnell, Hodgson etc. You'd think more would be done to protect it's future. I just find it rather odd and incredible to fathom. In my opinion Western Suburbs Magpie Juniors are Wests Tigers Juniors. One of the same and shouldn't be treated any differently as those that are in the CUB and U/20's Squads. |

Balamin DJRL have done lastyear and again this year with the BRETstate cup team visiting junior clubs training, autograph sessions and BBQs one eg: http://www.sportingpulse.com/club_info.cgi...sectionID=22200 Whilst looking at this from a Wests Tigers jnrs p.o.v, while this is a good initiative, really, how many of the kids are going to know any SC players, the same could be said from the Magpies side if the same thing occurred, very few if any. Why isnt Wests Tigers doing these things>? I mean, Corey Vlackikys autograph, Lee Bennetts? or Robbie Farah/Hodgo's? No brainer. |
