How is that for timing. I arrive in Sydney on Friday 6 June, just in time to return to Pratten Park. I will be there, I will see if I can even drag my ball and chain along. (She can read a book or something).

Thanks for the information Galahs.

I cannot wait for this day.

I grew up only a few blocks from Pratten Park. My grandad took me to my first ever Magpies game there. It was in July 1973, Wests v Souths. Unfortunately, Dennis Pittard scored 3 tries that day and the Rabbitoh's won 20-13

Like the weekend's Birchgrove Oval Game, will Channel 9 via the Sunday Footy show & the Sunday Roast be televising and paying tribute to the Western Suburbs Football Club? I hope so.

hi guys.
i know it's probably too soon to know but are we organising transport from Wests Leumeah to Pratten Park (maybe via Wests Ashfield)? maybe i'm being optimistic but i reckon this may be an idea...
can't wait to get to Pratten Park - i grew up in Ashfield, missed going to the '73 match against souths there as my first match was at Lidcombe Oval not long after. but i do remember going back to Pratten Park when the Maggies played a few matches there whilst Lidcombe was being "upgraded"...

Damn, June 8 was a free w/end for jnr footy, set aside for any wet weather cancellations. Rd 3 was wqshed out, yungns team was set down for 3pm...hope they change the time.
I only seen one game at Pratten, the thrashing Saints give us after the Amco Cup win in 77...30 years + to reverse that

This should be a good day for all, unfortunately I can't be there, but will look for the reports.Anyway back in the late 60's or early 70's a horse called Pratten Park raced in sydney as two year old and had a few good wins in top company, would some of the players been involved as the owners, anyone know,no doubt Tommy would have been......Cheers 14Wests

I hope this is being advertised in the local papers close to the event because more people will come from our old district if they know about it. Even if they're not Wests supporters they might still come along for a look see.

Andrew, I notice the Balmain logo on the bottom of the flyer.

Will there be any of the old tigers there or just the Wests champions.

looking forward to the day

The Golden Oldies is Wests v Balmain mate. I don't know who exactly is in the sides at this stage, but Bing Pringles name was mentioned for the Tigers.

So whose going ? I can't wait to get back to PP actually. Haven't been there since the 80s !!

Suprise suprise this event isn't getting the same media coverage as the Birchy game. Ah well the less bugs at the game the better :P
