I heard someone named PPP or Pratten Park P???? ring 2SM this arvo giving the day a plug, Hughes, MG & co werent even aware of it.

Not even advertised on the Wests Tigers website. Haven't heard or read any media reports. I guess this event doesn't rate as important as the Birchgrove Oval day.

Ah well the queues won't be as long....

"the Courier" & Rugby League Review..

What about Rugby League Week, Big League? Main Game in the Daily Telegraph? NRL on Fox, Fox Sports News, Channel 9, The Footy Show, Sunday Footy Show, Sunday Roast? Any media coverage, advertising promotion? Anything? Something?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but it is the Centenary Year of Rugby League and this club is one of the Foundation members and is quite worthy of such attention. Anything less would be a bitter disappointment in my eyes.

This is where the club should be show casing it's tradition, history to the game, fans and community of Rugby League. The opportunity to expose the Magpie brand and preserve the history of the Western Suburbs football club in what is THE very year to do so...

I hope to see, hear and witness some sort of media coverage come Sunday. For once, just once i'd love to see the Football club actually made a fuss about by the game and media alike. The contributions this club has made during the 100 years Rugby League has been in existence is endless and memorable.

Shed some light on the club for goodness sake. Christ knows' the fans and members deserve to be proud of something and we should have that portayed and show cased for all in Rugby League to see.

We've just had confirmation from Ashfield council that the ground is marked and the posts are up ready for Sunday (usually soccer has Pratten in winter).

The cricket pitch area is a bit muddy as you would expect, but generally the ground is in good condition and council are happy to go ahead so lets hope the rain stays away for a few more days and we can have a great game.

Phew!!!

I was almost going to ask if anybody had remembered the goalposts!

Been quite a while since they've been up there and I was wondering if anybody has spoken to the council about opening up the scoreboard. Even if it's not operational it would be nice to have a look inside some old Magpie heritage.

C'Arn the PIES!!!!

For those hoping to enjoy a celebratory drink at the ground on Sunday, we have secured a liquor licence for the day. There will be a specific area that all drinks must be consumed in. Please help us out by observing the restrictions on the day if you are going to have a drink and help us have a successful event.

Apparently because of the wet a couple of the planned activities at Pratten Park were put off.

Is it true the 'Stars of the Bygone Era" will be doing a lap of honour this Sunday at ANZ Stadium?

If so does anyone know if its going to be before the game or at halftime?

Cheers

Another highlight of the day will be the Wests Tigers 200 Years of History celebration whereby former players from Western Suburbs Magpies and Balmain Tigers will unite to celebrate their proud past.

More than 150 past players and their families have accepted their invitations to attend the unique function and re-live their past.

Expecting to see not only former Magpies who played for the Joint-Venture club, but both original sets of club men from both prestigous foundation club's. Fantastic initiative. Well done Wests Tigers.

Surely this will get the media coverage and publicity it truly deserves. Bring on Sunday!! B)

Ha, some great shots there. Ian and his little fella is a great photo. Fletch, Shields and Dentay together, and Mosh also. Shame they're not a bit bigger.
