Highlands Update Bowral are getting 20plus to training if they could double that they would field a team in res and thirds. Mittagong 25 odd players aswell they are looking at importing a few players from NZ and locally they should be fine. Robbos numbers have not been as good as they wanted but is still early daysand they are stilll in the market for some name players to boost numbers but alot of last years players have left. Unsure on Mossy STU might some info on that. |

Mossy are getting good numbers to training also, especially u/18's but robo & mittagong seem content on wanting to poach mossy u/18's. May i remind them that a junior coming out of the u/16's must play for their senior club for the next 2 years except for if they move out of the area, its in the group 6 constitution. I'm hearing things aren't that good at robo either hence why i think they are desperate to get what players they can. Well I hope mittagong learnt their lesson a few years ago when they brought a heap of kiwis which nearly sent the club broke. |

Does that rule apply also to players who played 18s for a club they must play 2 years for there senior club aswell? Heard Mark Delamont signed with Robbertson. And Mittagong chasing Kiwis again oh dear not again 1 or 2 maybe but last time they had 7 or 8 and went bust. They have the jnrs to build a strong side if they are patient. Bowral still hunting for a captain/coach they need to sort that out soon as the season is 8weeks away. Also looking for a president as there last one has step down and pulled his sponsorship The new pub in bowral seems to have filled that void according to Bowrals website. |

No they only remain with their parent club when coming out of u/16's unitil they progress out of u/18's. Unless their parent club cannot field an u/18 side then they are free to go elsewhere unless they wish to play grade for their parent club. Delamont hasn't signed with robo, he's been at dragons training along with a few other former robo players who were originally dragons players anyway, seems like new coach willie mcdonald has some pull & influence . Robo are going to struggle as they are going into first grade on their own terms meaning they are starting from scratch. I know talking to some of the mossy players at the pub that 95% of the dragons players wont be tempted in going to robo despite all the cash and promises as they have come so far with Moss Vale and that they fell they are closer to a premiership with mossy than with robo. |

Ok so once there 18s commitments are done they are free to do what they choose i was told diff thanks for clearing that for me Disco. Also regards to Delamont im only posting what i was told. There are a fair few former spuds at Bowral aswell some were lured away by cash which they didnt get and have returned after one season so seems Robbo are helping group 6 clubs ATM. I still beleave they should have looked to merged but thats my opinion. Long time Spud Mark Whatman has signed with Bowral but that was due to travel reasons Robbo vs mittagong trial on the 20th of febuary nite trial i think at mitta |

Thilmere have posted some signings on there website.Looking like they will be a contender again for season 2010. Also on Mt annans website it looks like there only advertising for 18s which is a shame i really think Mt annan has the jnrs to be a success at Snr level. Lets hope there back soon. Also Robertson are looking in trouble to fill two senior teams. from what im aware the other clubs in the highlands know this and are watching there situation. Whats the latest in Ctown guys!! |

Macarthur Chronicle Full circle as Kevin McGuinness comes home again by VERA BERTOLA EVEN Kevin McGuinness sees the irony of coming back to Stromferry Reserve, the field he trained on with the Western Suburbs Magpies Jersey Flegg side in 1995 prior to making his first grade rugby league debut later that season. The ex-high-flier is committed to playing out his career in Campbelltown, and appreciates the sentimentality of the decision. The 34-year-old has agreed to captain the Campbelltown City Kangaroos in their return to first grade in the 2010 Western Suburbs District Junior Rugby League and Group 6 combined competition. “It is ironic that I have returned to where it all started,” McGuinness said. “I owe a lot to the local junior league and see playing for the Kangaroos as a way to give something back. “Besides, my nephew plays under-12s here with City. I want to show him that his old uncle can still play a bit.” A Minto Cobras junior, McGuinness enjoyed a stellar top-grade career. The talented centre didn’t need much convincing to return to his hometown and was happy to play a part in promoting the game. City have also welcomed back Ronald Jones to the blue and gold. The well-travelled half played for the Roos between 1987-1994, prior to joining the Wests Magpies. Kangaroos senior vice-president Heath Attard welcomed McGuinness and Jones to the club. “It’s great to have these boys wanting to give something back to the local area. “Both have achieved very highly throughout their careers and will be great contributors to our club,” he said. |

Despite the fact they have some signed some players they are losing quite alot also highlander . My mail is that Wozniak is gone to wenty, Sampson to ingleburn ( of course) , Shane Martin to Moss Vale, Lee Faave -retired, John Rae joining the police force, Jayden Merchants been linked to Oakdale Yeah robo are struggling big time for numbers guessd they should have thought it out alot better or had a plan B for recruiting players so much so they have put a SOS out for playerS to come to training ASAP.......... makes you winder why ? |

REGAN CUP group 7 Third grade has been scrapped this year for lack of teams i think this is why Robbo are so keen on 1sts as they cant fall back on the regan cup the 2 teams left have joined the Illawarra VB cup. And conisdering the lengths they went to to get to group 7 i cant see them coming back to here which puts them in a pickle. But according to yesterdays paper the other clubs all seem to be going ok.
