Its a sad situation when the refs are getting paid more than a lot of the players who go out each week to play the game.[/quote]Refs earn their cash, leave them alone |

Not really, officials are an important to the game , i wouldnt like to do their job especially with the controlled and uncontrolled abuse they sometimes get on the field and if your a touchie the abuse you get from spectators. I dont go to work to get abused neither should refs , but they need some sort of incentive to get out of bed to do it. |

Very ordinary conditions out there tonite. In reserves easts ended with 11 players after two were sin binned in the last 5 mins. And in 1st Easts played the majority of the game with 12 players. And to make things worse the Away sheds showers barely worked. Edited by storm4lyfe, Sep 4 2010, 10:13 PM.

Not a good day for Thirlmere, lost first grade 26-24 to Picton and went down in reserve grade to Moss Vale 20-10. Oakdale V Picton Moss Vale V Easts Winner of both games goes to the 1st grand final. City V Moss Vale Easts V Collegians Winner of both games goes to the reserve grand final.

Questions for the pane: 1) Should the venue for next weekend be changed? 2) should Picton be afforded a home ground advantage? if so, why? should make for some interesting replies |

The home ground advantage is fine with me. The grounds were determined before knowing that Picton would make it this far, so fine. But the ground was at the centre of discussion at the last group meeting, and a motion was passed that if the ground is in a bad state, the game would be moved, with all the recent rain there, and the juniors traffic, i will be interested to see what the decision will be. But depends who's inspecting it. |

Thats right, who'd predict that Picton would progress this far, just a coincidence that they are playing at home. The state of the ground would be a worry, considering the amount of games that will be played on it on saturday then sunday. I went to the semi at the oaks a few weeks ago and passed thru Picton , and the ground then looked very patchy and void of grass in some areas. |

ventured out to Narellan sportsground on a windy afternoon to watch the roosters take on the magpies. The game was fairly evenly matched with the roosters taking the early ascendency, but with their captain Carylon sustaining a hamstring injury after scoring, this proved to be a big loss for Thirlmere as he is a focal point in their attack. Mark Brasington also limped off with a knee injury. Thirlmere looked to have the game under control leading by 8 until the final 5 or so mins when Picton picked up a gear and thanks to 2 quick tries hit the lead with only minutes left and held on for a gutsy win. Disappointed in Thirlmeres lack of urgency letting the maggies back in than showing very little desperation in the dying minutes of the game. This will be the first time since 2005 that the roosters have failed to reach the decider! Are Picton gaining momentum for another premiership assault? They face the form team of the year in Oakdale this week and have a home ground advantage, or maybe not depending on the state ground, an from what ive seen and heard things dont look too good at Victoria park atm.... Easts as expected won comfortably but didnt gt to see their game, East c'town vs Moss Vale and Oakdale vs Picton, sets up two fantastic games.. Easts have beaten Mossy twice this year, while Oakdale have accounted for Picton in both matches this year... |

Why not change the venue to Camden the ground can accommodate spectators and it's in a good state of repair. |
