What did Narrellan do ??? What did you expect with the crowd attendance @ $12 a person. Many have commented they would have loved to have gone to the games but wouldnt pay that much to watch other sides not affiliated with their clubs. Well done to all teams playing on the day. |

thats gold Well done to Moss Vale Dragons, some knocked them for they way they earnt their minor premiership title, but they definately earnt the right to be the best team after a grinding 6-2 win in the grand final over Picton. I dont think 3rd grade will be scrapped, maybe too much of this got in the way of a good story.

Not really there was some issuess wih it. The scrapping on third grade ive heard from both ends of the merger over a multiple of times in the past few weeks. We are not worried as we have options that we are looking at anyway. But would be strange to cull a comp with so many teams! |

Apparently some Narellan players and/or spectators got into a barney with some East Campbelltown players and/or spectators during the first half of the first grade grand final fixture. Some reports say it was in the concourse of the stands others say it was near the entry gates. Approx 40 police were called to the stadium to quell the melee. Interesting to see what happens here. |

Collies junior at Oakdale? At a strong guess I'd say Bart Masters. Hes played Jim Beam/Bundy Cup before and played all his junior footy for Collies' |

Get you rumour correct if you are going to spread it! Collies will not be in the Bundy Cup next year, I am fortunate enough to go to these Bundy meetings and Collies enquiered about Bundy Cup and that is it, They have know lost there major sponsor and should try to get a 1st grade side before trying Bundaberg Cup, they should try to win Reserve Grade first, that may help them get a 1st Grade side! Could only assume it is Bart Masters, he would be a good buy. But them playing Jim Beam Cup? They couldn't even field a First Grade side in group 6. |

Dragons break 20-year drought BEN MCCLELLAN 20 Sep, 2010 10:08 AM “MISSION accomplished – the drought is over.” http://bowral.yourguide.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/dragons-break-20year-drought/1946384.aspx?storypage=1 ![]() Moss Vale president Greg Burke’s simple statement said it all. After 20 long, hard and sometime disappointing years, the Group 6 rugby league premiership Cup is finally back at Community Oval. The Dragons won one of the closest Wests/Group 6 grand finals in recent memory with a gutsy 6-2 victory over Picton at Campbelltown Stadium on Saturday night. It was scoreless second half but you wouldn’t have known it from the frantic cheering of Dragons supporters. Moss Vale bussed up a small army that had Campbelltown Stadium looking like Kogarah Oval with a sea of red and white fans yelling their lungs out for their beloved Dragons – from Moss Vale. The win was overshadowed by several brawls that broke out in the stadium during the game resulting in four arrests. Big prop Elliot Esquilant could barely contain his emotions, with the strong enforcer tasting his first ever grand final success in his 17 years with the club. “Mate I bleed for this club I love this club and it’s something special,” he said. “It means everything to have everyone here. The town is behind us you know everyone has been apart of the club for a long time and means something special to Moss Vale. It’s been 20 years.” For those that were part of the last grand final win in 1990, their pride at being back in the winner’s circle was palpable. “How good does this feel?” trainer and 1990 Dragon Owen Saunders yelled as the team embraced on the full time hooter. Burke could hardly believe the Dragons had done it. He had paced nervously up in the VIP box and down on the sidelines but always had an eye on the scoreboard as well as the action in the middle. “It’s been a real long wait I’d hate to be holding my breath for that long,” he said. “It’s great big effort from everyone in the club from the ball boys right through it’s been one hell of a ride this year.” “I’ve been lucky, I’ve come in at the right time for the club when we just hit our peak. A lot of work was done by Grant Russell and Peter Barrington and guys like that who set out to get this premiership in the last few years and we finally got it The 150-odd Dragons supporters that dominated a whole bay gave Moss Vale the lift they needed. “It’s excellent, Moss Vale just loves football. It showed here tonight. A lot of people have stuck by this club for a lot of years and now they’ve all got grins on their faces they won’t be able to wipe for six months,” Burke said. “It was too close my hair goes grey with natural causes I don’t need this stuff.” But the man who led the team to its historic win, player-coach Willie MacDonald, who was man of the match and scored the only try of the showdown, was deflecting praise elsewhere. “The motto out there the last few weeks has been we are brothers so we all push for each other,” he said. “All we just busted our asses and didn’t stop working for each other.” MacDonald said the crowd support played a huge part in the win. “You can just tell by the amount of supporters we got here. We had the loudest supporters all day. We couldn’t have done it without them,” he said. “Thanks so much we heard you yelling all game, when we were digging deep we could look to the crowd to see more of our supporters than Picton so that pulled us through it.” The under-18 Robertson Spuds were unable to get the Highlands team off to the start they were after and lost 26-10 to Picton in the division three grand final Saturday morning. The Dragons and their faithful assembled at the Central Hotel yesterday with several players struggling to stay awake after a big night. They unwound by sharing their war stories. Oh don't get me wrong, I don't believe in any way they'll actually get a Bundy cup side off the ground. I was just addressing the Collies/Oakdale rumour. Edited by DevelopmentCoach, Sep 20 2010, 08:16 PM.

I seen the fight and wad there in a matter of seconds as I heard East Campbelltown players were involved, not only me but other Eagles committe members that were there in a flash, proud to say not 1 East Campbelltown member was involved, this was backed by the wests junior league and that is saying something, it was Narellan and they had started on a Picton supporter, and other members there. Narellan had been moved on 4 occasions and a very silly move to have your mad Monday on Saturday at the Grand Final. Get this Wests Juniors wanted to stop the 1st Grade game at Half time, there not use to that sort of behaviour! Edited by Blue Devil, Sep 20 2010, 09:24 PM.

Why an unfortunate loss for Picton? Moss Vale were the better side on the day that friends is football imagine someone saying that Picton were lucky to have beaten Oakdale on the day Picton outplayed Oakdale that is fact. |

I think its a case of some sympathetic reporting , it is from the wollondilly advertiser, Pictons local paper. By saying they were unfortunate must suggest they expected them to win |
