Your right he is good player. I wondered why he wasn't at East's this year, I thought it must have been the money offered elswhere. But I hear that he wasn't happy at his new "home" I dont think he got a run in the later part of the season and was unsure if he got dropped or injured? |

He wasn't wanted due to attitude, he was looked after very well, and his new club was so dissapointed, he just upt and left mid season which he done to our club on a number of occasions, his new club phoned him and done everything possible to get him back but wouldn't return, good luck to any club the invests in players like this, you will get nowhere! |

Anyone heard if Group 6 has taken action against the Narellan players/club over the Grand Fonal misbehaviour. Heard that Group 6 didn't want the marriage with Wests to continue in 2011 due to antics of certain Wests players/clubs during the 2010 season eg: Hinchinbrook, Macarthur Saints, Collies etc. However, after what happened on Grand Final day Group 6 officials/clubs must now realise that it's not just Wests that have idiots in their ranks. Administrations can put a code of conduct in place and clubs/officials can act professionally but it's hard to stop idiots. That said firm direction must be shown by the administration of all clubs. |

Narellan has copped a $5000 2 year good behaviour bond, and 3 players have to front the committee, yes there are always going to be idiots but it's the way that you deal with it, collies have not fronted any committee, Mac Saints was dealt with poorly As seen on A Current Affair and Hinchinbrook was the start of the possible split with people from one side of the fence denied it was that bad! The split hasn't happened yet and NSWRL might no want it to happen, who knows! |

NSWRL Might not have any say IF the CRL decide they don't want it to continue. It was always going to be hard with 2 bodies and boundaries and the fact that there was not 1 Board just showed there would always be trouble. I was at hincinbrook/Bowral it wasnt good. So did Narellan get a fine or 2 year suspended fine? |

A two year suspended fine, and your right the competition needed to be under the one body, But with both sides wanting power it was never going to work, some people should let it go for the good of the game, |

The competition the way it is now is becoming the best West's or Group 6 have had in a long time. I have witnessed some of the best A Grade footy I have ever seen this year. Let's hope for the good of both our districts common sense prevails. All marriages have their hiccups but a strong marriage will get over the problems and deal with the issues at hand and move on. Wests and Balmain can make WestTigers work........... so can we. |

I think that what people are forgetting is that the Group 6 clubs were forced into the merged comp despite voting against the proposal. It was a shot gun wedding at best and the fact that there are problems with the union should be no surprise to anyone. Those problems may be able to be solved BUT it would require both partners wanting to continue the union and both parnters willing to make compromises. |

I'll second that! Combined competition has given senior Rugby League an exciting future again throughout both areas. |

Couldnt agree more... If we were to abandon the combined comp it would be a huge blow to football in the area... I know people from outside the area who are so impressed by the strength of the competitions right through the grades, and to see them collapse would be a massive blow... |

The combined comp has only been a major benifit to Campbelltown. Im yet to speak to anyone from grom group 6 that suppots the merger Facts are if the comps split there should be enough clubs now that have re built in the last 2 years to keep the wests comp growing. |

I have to agree with Highlander, I haven't spoken to anyone within Group 6 (apart from the Management Committee) who wanted the merger in the first place, who are happy with the results or who want it to continue. |

Last I read the local rag, the west magpies/tigers was under threat with the tigers wanting to get rid off the Magpies Premier League, looks like that worked really well! Edited by Blue Devil, Sep 30 2010, 03:22 PM.

I wonder where this talk of separation would leave a club like Campbelltown City ?As a foundation club in group 6 ,1946 and then WestJRL in 1972. They have celebrated their return to first grade this year and have constantly been in reference to their past achievements as a group 6 club. They have stated this year how they are happy once again to be playing their old traditional rivals. I wonder if they would jump ship if the comp does separate and if group 6 clubs would allow them in?? Edited by disco stu, Sep 30 2010, 04:07 PM.

Well, what was better? 2008 Group 6 season- 5 teams in 1st and Reserve Grade (with Narellan 1sts and Appin 2nds failing to make their commitments as the '6th teams' in these grades)? or 2010 G6/Wests season- 12x 1st Grade teams, 10 highly competitive with an improving All Saints and a strong Campbelltown Collegians club more than able to take the next step to 1st Grade. Yes Ingleburn Bulldogs were off the speed, but that area should also be supporting a strong 1st Grade club. Bulldogs strength was severely compromised by having 3 neighbouring clubs field 3rd Grade teams around them, disabling Ingleburn from being able to build depth through a reserve grade. Disco- Roos were a Wests JL foundation club in 1987. Following 1983 (our last season in G6 1st Grade), we participated in the rump Newtown- Campbelltown A Grade of 1984 before withdrawing from the 1985 A Grade season. We didn't field A Grade again until 1988 under Wests. Interestingly the Newtown- Campbelltown JL was dissolved at the end of 1985 when it was apparent that Newtown were long dead before the interim Campbelltown- Liverpool JL ran the area in 1986. Wests arrived in 1987. |

Im Sorry Orana but at the end of the day the Merger is not and has not been good for my club so why should i support it!!! Mate we ran at a lost at some home games as people didnt turn up we had to share home games with Robbo to get a decent gate!! where as in 2008 even in DNC we made good coin. Mate driving all the way up to some grounds to labelled a "inbred" or "Sheep rooter" which i can take but having my mrs and kids subjected to it and intimidated and not wanting to attend away games Yeah Great Love it!!! See crowds fight after the game rushing me kids into a car as its coming towards me!! Can you honestly expect me to support that? |
